The location is fantastic! It's about 10-15 minutes outside of Luray, and an easy drive to the Swift Run Gap entrance to the National Park.
The house feels isolated and private. There's a huge yard. The space is great, and my kids loved the converted garage game room with pool table and darts. The kitchen is very well supplied! It's a good space for large families, with a big sectional for relaxing and a huge dining table for group meals. Most of the rooms have individual window AC units (one bedroom does not).
The problem we had was with the water supply. The house runs on a well which we didn't know, but learned once the well ran out of water. We used the dishwasher and used the washing machine for a load of towels. We had no idea that the water supply was limited, and after a day of hiking, our family of 6 all needed showers. In the middle of our third night, there was no water coming out of the sinks.
The hosts were very apologetic and brought us large containers of drinking water and eventually refunded us for two nights (we left one night early on our 6 night stay), but if you're planning a longer stay or staying with a larger group, I would ask if they've resolved the water issue.
We would stay here again, as long as they've come up with a solution for the problem we had!
