I will just add that is important to have a car equipped to handle dirt roads with hills. We had a hard time taking our minivan out. But overall the place was just beautiful and for sure I will return again.
This house was okay to stay at for a weekend, but I don't think we'd stay for longer than that. We had 8 people staying, and there were plenty of beds and bathrooms for everyone. This is definitely not a house for anyone with mobility issues because it is a split-level with bedrooms up and down stairs. The living room had a nice TV, but there was limited seating. We brought chairs in from the sun porch and made it work. It is a home in the woods, so be aware of woodland creatures/insects when booking. While we stayed we saw a couple of mice, which isn't unusual for the time of year. We've grown up in the country all our lives, and we understand that sometimes things get in the house. However, make sure you check all of the drawers and cabinets in the kitchen because we saw mouse droppings in the drawers. We brought disposable plates and silverware so we wouldn't have to wash a ton of dishes, but we washed all of the pots and pans before we used them. We kept them in the dishwasher so no mice could get on them.
Great place! Lots of space, very clean, nice views on top 2 levels. DO NOT attempt to take a boat trailer down to this house, leave it at the marina. There are zero turnarounds. Parking at the house for 3 vehicles, but all require tight T turns.
We chose Blackberry Hill because, with a strenuous hike, the lake was accessible! Now, you do have to turn and hike down levels once you reach the end of the steps, but there is a great rock ledge. We navigated down with kayaks, fishing poles and a paddle board, and a 5 and 2 year old!!! But once we got to the water, it was incredible! If you want to get to the water on Centerhill lake, I recommend Blackberry Hill!
Nice property, beautiful views plenty of room. Only a couple of issues. One being a little difficult getting into the code lock. Another, the Blackberry Hill Drive narrow and steep.
Very roomy. Enough space to get away from the group if wanted. Road was a bit tricky in a car, minivan and suv were fine. Very close to marina. Must be part billy goat to get to lake at house...not an out of shape 48yr old woman haha! We all had a great weekend at the lake!
Overall the experience was good. A couple of things to note are: access to the lake is a bit of a hike, grill doesnât heat evenly, and the beds could be better. Communication was good with the host, and the stay was pleasant.
House is spacious. Kitchen is stocked well-enough. Wifi good. Lovely view.
We booked this for a last minute stay. Decent location and very close to Hurricane Marina. Lake is gorgeous! House is comfortable enough for the six of us. I would only recommend this house for anyone over age 12.
