This is a really nice and quiet location. Very close to local restaurants and shops. Fire pit was a great amenity. Only issue we had was in regards to cleanliness issues in the main living spaces. There were several baking sheets with several day old grease sitting in the oven, the inside of the fridge was very unsanitary (we cleaned it), used tissues next to some of the guest beds, mouse droppings in the front closet, and lots of leaves/rocks were on the flooring of the kitchen and living room.
The facilities were great and the actual property was even better than the listing. The only issue we experienced was Asian Beatles getting in the property but we saw a wealth of them all around DC at this time of year. We would be more than happy to stay in this property again.
Size of the place is wonderful for a large group. We had 6 people and a dog who were comfortably there for 3 nights. There were an above average amount of lady bugs in the house, but other than that it was clean. Couldâve been the season/weather. Otherwise it was a positive overall stay and very close to the main strip of sister bay!
This is a nice, but very basic house. Don't expect "fully stocked" kitchen to mean that. Also, no shampoos and / or conditioner in the showers. Don't recall seeing that warning. Otherwise- very comfy, nice deck, fire pit area, plenty of seating areas. Water pressure good - ice box cold, etc. It is located on a quiet road that was great for walking the dogs. It's a short drive to all the Door County attractions.
The widows were in need of some cleaning, the window sills were filthy full of dead bugs, the carpet needs to be shampooed also the house needs air conditioning it had fans but needed more air. The furniture could have been moved out and vacuumed behind.
If you are looking for a quiet place to stay very close to Sister Bay and Ephraim, this is it. The check-in was easy and no contact. We were surprised by a new state requirement that all eating utensils and dishes be sanitized, but it was a good thing we did, because some of the plates had food caked on and we found a mouse dropping in the silverware tray. We may rethink future travel in Wisconsin and go with hotels and B&Bs.The upstairs was very warm during the first part of our stay and part of our group chose to sleep downstairs the first two nights.
This VRBO is a great place to stay if you're looking to cycle in Door County. It is a fairly priced, well equipped and located near towns but far enough away to avoid traffic.
Communication was excellent! They immediately got us more propane when it ran out. The air didn't seem to circulate as well when it got hot but luckily it was our last day
We had a very nice stay at this property. It is isolated and very quiet - but also a very short drive to Ephraim, Sister Bay, and the other towns. The house is very nice inside and large - with a very nice kitchen, 3 nicely sized bedrooms upstairs, and a very nice outdoor deck. Lots of other reviews mentioned that they Wi-Fi access is weak. We didn't encounter any big issues with that. It wasn't nearly as strong enough as the internet service we have at home in the Chicago area, but we found it adequate enough. The house does lack air conditioning and unfortunately that made the upstairs bedrooms very warm at night even once the temps outside dipped considerably. The lack of air conditioning should be more obvious in the property description.
Dog friendly property, which was terrific for our pup!
loved how private the property was. We were able to have a nice quiet time away from the busy street of Sister Bay but it was also nice to be so close to everything. We had a great stay. We would definitely come back when we need a place for a large group.
I had a few questions prior to arrival at our rental to which I got swift response. Upon arrival the outside looked great. Once we started organizing and putting stuff away we immediately noticed lots of crumbs/dog hair in the corners in the kitchen. In the bathrooms there was hair all over in the tubs and one of the bathrooms smelled of urine and we realized it was the rug that was full of urine. Another bathroom smelled really musty and we ended up finding black mold behind the toilet. One of the comforters on the bed had a blood smear on it. We checked out the grill to use it one night and there was a bees nest in it. We let the owner know of these things and he came over and knocked the bees nest out of the grill and wiped up the black mold, we had already taken care of everything else. We did sit by the fireplace a couple of nights and had a couple of our own chairs out there . After being gone all day we were ready to use the campfire a second night only to find that there was a sprinkler mover right next to the fire pit and the camp chairs were all wet..not sure why they would turn on the sprinklers knowing that our chairs were out there and we were obviously using the fire pit. Another night we were in the dining area when we saw a mouse run across the floor in the living room. We tried to catch it to kill it but it ran under the locked door in the kitchen which apparently went down to the basement. We shoved some things under the door to block it. We let th

The only thing we had problems with was the WiFi and internet. Both were unreliable. We had to keep rebooting the box. And even then didnât work. Had to text the owner a couple of times to reset it. Then it would work for a while and go back off in the evening.
Great location, close to all Door County has to offer! Very spacious home with comfortable furniture. Grill, fire pit and yard games were a hit! Only negative was the lack of air conditioning, but the abundance of fans made it tolerable for sleeping at night. Overall, great property, great location.
