The cabin is amazing! Had a fire going the whole weekend and went in the hot tub every night. Only problem was parking can be sketchy. The driveway is steep/angled and was fully iced over during our stay. Still totally worth it.
Overall, the house was great for a long weekend at Snowshoe. The highlights include being right on the mountain, in walking distance of the Western Territory, great hot tub, and working fireplace. The biggest drawback was the sleeping situation... the listing states it can sleep 15 people, but several of the beds are pullout couches, which we found to be less comfortable than sleeping on the floor. Also, the parking situation was a bit confusing and difficult to navigate if arriving at night. I would still book this house again, but it is worth knowing that it might be a bit uncomfortable for bigger groups.
Nice big house with more than enough room for the 10 of us. Location is super convenient to hit the Western Territory and the bus is easy to grab to the village. One negative was that the stairs to the house were super dangerous due to packed snow and ice. Needs to be shoveled after a storm so people donât fall.
It was a great place to stay. The amenities were everything we needed. Being a first time customer the parking situation needed to be explained. I would definitely book again.
Very close to the slopes. Plenty of beds but there was foul smell on the bottom floor that got worse over the four days. I believe it had to do with sewage system because that toilet would not flush without plunging it and it eventually leaked onto the floor from the bottom of the toilet. Then one evening there was standing foul smelling liquid in the laundry room with no leak signs from the hot water heater. Other than that, stay was pretty good
Let me start with the positive: the location two doors from Shay's Revenge is fantastic. Also the shuttle that comes to the driveway is awesome. The rest is disappointing. When we arrived the entire house stunk like fireplace. The top floor master bedroom was awful - thick and smoky. We tried to air it out with opened windows and the fan but it was like sleeping in a campfire - we were breathing smoke all night. I complained the next morning and they changed the sheets and washed the comforter but it was still bad for two more nights. We had to leave the windows open in 15 degree for 2 days to clear it. The house is old and the upkeep is mediocre. You are paying for the great location but not much else. The laundry room stinks like urine. The sheets provided by the management company are scratchy. Several light bulbs were out (and the ones that work are all different colors). Appliances are old. There are no serving bowls, storage containers or measuring cups in the kitchen. The one wall hair dryer provided didn't work. The lower level toilet needed plunging with each flush. There were gatorade bottles and trash under one of the sofas when we arrived. Lastly, there is no driveway or garage. We had to unload onto slushy gravel. The path to the front door is down awkwardly constructed stairs that are an uneven mix of stone and wood, which are not ideal for anyone with balance issues and turn treacherous in icy weather.
This is a true wood burning fire place, great ski chalet 5 minutes from the slopes or you can drop in to a black diamond slope for a quick entrance. A very reliable, quick, on-call shuttle service picks you right up as well. We arrived at night during a snowstorm to find an untouched driveway which slopes badly near the top easily allowing a vehicle to slide down the mountainside. Add the ice lip from the snow plows and it is just really dangerous. A real 4 wd vehicle is a must. But over 6 days and three good snows, we saw one plowing. I shoveled every day to keep some ground exposed to avoid the dangerous slope at the top of the driveway. The shuttle driver said guests to this house usually leave out the neighboring driveway which had a chest high snowpile blocking this route and a private property sign. If you have good common sense, a real 4 WD vehicle and a sense of adventure, this is a great, fun house.
The house had great space, bedrooms, kitchen & living space all worked perfectly for our while crew! The bathrooms had great water pressure and lots of hot water, the house was well heated in the winter & hot tub worked great! The bus was very convenient to get to The Village for snowboarding & other activities!
We stayed here last year February 2022. We loved it so much we decided to come back February 2023. We absolutely love the home and the area. Everything is near us.
Loved it. House is a little precarious with toddlers due to the spiral staircase, which the dog did not do well on either! But this was not the deal breaker at all. Loved the house, the setting and the closeness to Shay's. Great hot tub! the rental staff at Snowshoe is just the nicest!
We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely rent again. Cabin was clean and well maintained, check in was easy, lots of space. It's located right next to the black diamond runs on western territories which is great if you are able to handle that terrain. Otherwise you call a shuttle to the main mountain which is not bad at all.
Only recommendations for improvements would be a more specialized ski rack in the downstairs hall and to include a step stool for the hot tub. We were able to bring a folding one from home since a car left later and could pack one. Otherwise getting in and out is a pain.
Generally well-maintained and clean. A few issues came up which were promptly handled. Well, equipped kitchen, and we especially liked having cable with Netflix and Wi-Fi. Thank you for your gracious hospitality. Would love to come back next December!
Our group of 9 friends really enjoyed our stay. Property manager was very responsive to some cleanliness issues. Proximity to Shays was awesome! Would stay here again.
Cabin was perfect for our family. Big dining room and kitchen made food prep easy. My pre-date questions were not answered. The neighbor has blocked the driveway, so parking is a challenge but not a showstopper. Bedrooms were nice size, beds were comfortable, but lower level was musty and had to empty dehumidifier frequently . Despite the flaws, we would stay here again.
Lot's of wood and nice fireplace--we enjoyed a roaring fire every night. Extremely well supplied...just need a measuring cup. We had an absolutely great time, and the 1 minute walk to Shay's Revenge was a hit with my boys...but you need to be able to ski a Black Diamond if you want to take advantage of this fantastic ammenity.
