Not recommended. Small, Cold & dirty. This property is a converted college dormitory, originally built in the early 1900s. This is not a hotel. Carpet is thin & dirty. The Desk and chair look like old student desks with visible wear and tear. A leg on the desk was broken and it almost fell over. The bathroom is also small. The shower was okay, but the toilet was the type you’d find in a public bathroom. There were also yellow stains inside the toilet and there was a stench of stale urine in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable and had appropriate covers on the mattress. No bed bugs, but a brown stain on the comforter. The air & heating is centrally controlled meaning of the whole building is set to AC. It was mid October and rainy due to a nor’easter so temperatures outside were low. The room was very cold and the only option we had was to turn the AC off. We were offered an extra blanket. We ended up going to Walmart to buy a space heater in order to be comfortable in the room and not wrapped in blankets. However, the heat was on in the lobby. Checkout is at 10. We asked for a later checkout due to the timing of the storm. The front desk attendant said she’d call that evening to let us know if it is was possible (we were one of the few guests there). She didn’t call until 7am the next morning and woke us up. Late checkout was only at 10:30. This was not a comfortable stay and we won’t be returning.
