The property was as described. Emkay and Laura were the perfect hosts and did a great job communicating. The location was in a quiet, safe neighborhood and the property was gated in case you are worried. The property is in a wooded area with a creek that runs through it and is located about 10 minutes from Capitola Beach. We throughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to our visit next year.
The location is great, the property is great, the owner is great. No real complaints but the listing didn't really specify there are multiple other cabins on site you would be sharing all the amenities with. Despite this, we didn't have any issues with access to anything. Emkay has a great thing going here.
Adorable group of cabins located in nature next to a small river with redwoods on the property. Our cabin was small but clean and comfortable. Owner was friendly and lives onsite with his family. There is a wonderful shared outdoor spot next to the river for outdoor dining, relaxing, games, etc. a short drive to Capitola, Santa Cruz and access to PCH (Monterey and Big Sur). Loved our stay here!
The view was as advertised and the atmosphere was very relaxed. The mattress was extremely comfortable. The entire compound was surrounded by a fence and gate so we felt safe walking around at night.
This sweet cabin (Ocean)met all of our needs and expectations. Our host was so kind and gracious. We were ensconced in the most beautiful forest of redwoods and a myriad of other tree species, and the sound of the adjacent stream was soothing/musical. We came mainly for the hiking in Redwood forests, and the state parks were conveniently close by. We also explored Santa Cruz and Capitola, and enjoyed the surf vibe. Canât wait to return!
Emkay was a great host. Accommodated an early check-in which was great for us. Was there with anything that we needed. Such a great piece of property in Santa Cruz mountains would definitely recommend.
Beautiful, cabin with deck overlooking babelingCreek, redwood trees, kick it area down by the beach, with no gravity chairs for star watching,Quiet, clean, best vaca for a long time, host is amazing, available if you need him but not in your business , TOL , towels sheets, very cleanWould highly recommend
Pictures were lovely but upon arriving the code to our cabin didn't work (someone in the first cabin was watching us from their window which also wasn't that reassuring). Tried getting in touch with Emkay but it was late so no response so we had to make a last minute reservation at a nearby hotel in the city and without mentioning ANY details the concierge told us that numerous others had had the same thing happen to them and showed us the exact same area. Very sketchy.
We loved our stay at Emkayâs place. Nice and quiet with a great little wooded beach to access as well as hot tub to use. Emkay was friendly and easy to communicate with. We spent so much time exploring the area, it was so nice to have such a clean and comfortable place to land each night. Would stay again!
The place is beautiful surrounded by trees they have games to play by the creek the jacuzzi was nice too ! The host was very welcoming got us a bottle on our last day . Only thing I didnât like is that the cabins where super close to each other it didnât say on description i thought it was only gna be only one or not as close to us so it didnât feel to private , the lights also went out so that really sucked since we were watching tv and also the drive way to come in super steep kept hitting the bottom of the car gotta drive in side ways Other then that everything was good very clean (:
Middle of the redwoods next to a babbling creek? Gorgeous location, super friendly host and everything you need to enjoy to get away from....everything.
My Partner and I came down with are Pup's to spend the weekend in Santa Cruz area. We met family and friends for dinner in Santa Cruz and a birthday. Had a great time with a wonderful little cabin in Soquel. communication with the gost and
This year I spent the winter solstice soaking in a hot tub in peaceful silence and perfect darkness. The only sound was the patter of rain on the leaves, which continued on the roof of my cozy cabin facing a perfect little stream. The air here is so clean and the river access is pretty good even for older folks. My wife and I found the host Emkay was quite lovely and communicative and has gone to great lengths to create a tranquil and safe space with lots of quirky personal touches.
The host is super nice, helpful and friendly. They gave us a bottle of wine and a note for us celebrating our anniversary. That was extra kind. The cabin is cute but the photos donât show the parking area and additional units around it, or the waste area behind it. To get to the creek is a bit of a walk along the asphalt drive by the main house and other rentals so itâs not as secluded as we envisioned. All the curtains need to be closed to have privacy since every window is visible from nearby parking, road, and other rental units. The unit was a bit smaller than anticipated but the bathroom was so small your knees are hitting the wall when sitting on the toilet. The most difficult struggle, however, was that there is no shelf or counter space anywhere in the bathroom to put anything.
We were searching for a place to stay in Monterey. Iâm not sure why this came up first in the lists in VRBO for Monterey? It is actually close to Santa Cruz we discovered and itâs a bit of a drive from Monterey. Itâs a great location though for visiting Redwoods and that was a highlight of our trip.
If youâre looking for hosts as nice as can be near the redwoods in Santa Cruz and a small but cute little place this might be a perfect place.
Great location with access easy access to Soquel, Capitola, and Santa Cruz. We loved waking up to the sound of the creek and soaking in the hot tub after a long day with a lot of walking, so serene to be in a hot tub in the redwoods under the stars. The cabin was cozy and had everything we needed. There was a slight snafu with check in but the host responded and fixed the problem super quickly and was very sweet about it.
I booked my stay based off of this propertyâs proximity to the redwoods and the beach, as well as their reviews. The hosts were amazing and very accommodating. When I drove in there was a massive rain storm and Emkay was very kind making sure that the cabin was ready for my arrival. They went out of their way to be wonderful with the hiccups that happen naturally with significant storms and they were wonderful with my pup. I would highly recommend staying at this property for anyone considering it!
