Several issues

There were several issues: Broken kitchen faucet which they replaced, bathroom faucet was loose but they adjusted it, missing outlet cover which they replaced, missing dryer lint catcher which they replaced 2 weeks later. I was never reimbursed for the 2 loads of clothes we dried with the public dryer. FYI Washing a load of clothes takes 2 hours because you can’t wash while something is drying but the dryer doesn’t work efficiently because the venting is blocked and we were told that is a COA repair. This unit needs a new washer, dryer and venting. The tv screen is so dark you can’t see faces, we even tried adjusting it, so this too needs to be replaced. The standing fans need cleaning. There is no coffee table so we had to buy one, the glass top coffee table in the ad is not in the unit. There were bugs: pantry bugs, little ants, german roaches and tree roaches. I bought several types of poisons and it cleared up after a while but this place needs regular spraying and i was never reimbursed for the supplies that i bought. Lastly, the toilet smells, we cleaned it but I think it the wax ring seal or something needs replacing. Positives: the view is very nice, they have very few nicknacks cluttering the place which is really nice for placing your own stuff, i made some excellent meals here and the complex is mostly quiet. Two beds are comfortable but the one in the 2nd bedroom near the door has a drip in the center, it needs replacing. I would not stay here again.

Great location!

Roomy condo. Perfect location. Even though condos are old the grounds are perfect. Boardwalk/deck with patio furniture was better than perfect. Fabulous for anyone with mobility issues. Feel like you are on the beach but don’t have to be. Needs clothes washer fixed. Needs more dishes especially cups and decent wine glasses ( plastic or not). Needs ants in kitchen and pantry taken care of. Not visible until food in closet. Otherwise great.

Needs to be updated

E-lock is difficult to use. Need better instructions prior to arrival. Location is excellent
close to pool and beach. Bedrooms are dark. Beds in front bedroom need to be replaced. Condo and furniture needs to be updated. Washing machine was not working. Bathroom sinks were clogged and maintenance didn’t come fix until late afternoon the day before we departed. Light out in n lamp and no one ever came to replace it. Wouldn’t recommend staying here even though the location is great.

Great location

Great, secured location. The location is near everything and has beach access with security at the entrances. Felt very safe and secure. Unfortunately, there was construction happening during our stay, in the condo above us and beside us. We also had no internet for a full day but those are minor things. If we go back to SPI will definitely stay there again.

Bugs everywhere could not keep food in condo. Also tons of construction in units surrounding us which was awful to wake up to and go to sleep to. Not to mention exposed electrical and construction materials making it unsafe for my children. Also many college kids staying on property while listing clearly said no one under 23.... no gym that was marketed on ad. Kitchen dishes all filthy and fridge smelled like mildew. Also upon arriving room was still dirty. No blankets only 2 thin sheets on each bed that clearly marketed triple sheeting a flat sheet a blanket and a decorative sheet not here! I would never rent such a disgusting home. When I reached out to property manager no response at all. I attlted all week I tried to get in contact with anyone. Also went to local office and no one there. Spent hours on hold no connect Also tried to reach vrbo by phone waiting on old for hours. response overall poor experience and ruined our vacation

The location of the unit is very convenient to the beach and pool. You can walk out the back sliding glass door patio and over to the beach access. It was nice that we could bring our small dog with us for Spring break. The property was well maintained. The pools were nice and clean. Lots of renovations going on especially with the unit next door and the unit above during daytime hours. There were times construction workers were right outside the patio working on the water lines for the unit next door. We did have ants coming down the vent in the kitchen to the countertops. The washer did not work. The unit could use some deep cleaning. Overall our stay was just okay.

Winter getaway

Lots of ants inside. Couldn’t keep anything on the counters. Construction was going on next door past 8pm some nights and starting at 7am. Debris laying around outside by patio. This was our 4th time staying in this unit. The last 2 were not good.

Beach Family time 2021

Loved the location. Perfect for our family from 78 year old to 20 year old. The sunrise sitting on the chairs on the porch priceless! When we got there and had issues with the lock box, and a missing coffee pot. It was dealt with right away. We were comfortable and had good family time on the beach. We would recommend better cook wear inventory and make sure everything is in working order. Needed a fry pan, a cooking sheet. It has an ice maker but did not work so used ice trays. The clear plastic dinning room chairs not appropriate for a grown man to sit in. All of these things could be upgraded even through garage sales. Leave more towels and wash clothes and kitchen towels. Also day two we had ants in the kitchen on the counter. The cleaning fee is in the higher side and could have been much cleaner. For the price and location we would definitely be back. But would love to see a few corrections.

South Padre get away

The condo was perfect for our family of three and the dog. Semi-private yard right in front made it easy access to the beach and pool. Condo was clean and quiet, and exactly what we were looking for. Would definitely rent again. Vacasa was extremely helpful and made the progress of in and out a breeze!

Excellent location!!! Bad ant issue!

We did run into miscommunication problems between Vacasa and Bahia Mar because the lockbox code Vacasa sent us was incorrect. When I called them Vacasa said the front gate had the key, front gate gave us a different lockbox code, thankfully it worked. Over all cleanliness was pretty good, some dishes were dirty. The ant problem was ridiculous! Bug guys sprayed the first full day we were there but all 3 types of ants are still thriving 5 days later. No matter where we hid our food they got into it. We ended up throwing away our peanut butter, nutella, Graham crackers, bagels, bread and cereal because ants managed to get inside the packaging. No cabinet, counter, pantry or linen closet was safe. In the end we refrigerated everything. The location was perfect! Because of this we would stay again (just prep for an ant invasion). Just a minutes walk to the shore, beaches weren't nearly as crowded as the ones by the hotels or bigger condo areas. Kids loved being able to run in the grassy area. Spicket on the patio was great to wash sand off our stuff. Washer and dryer are stackables but held more laundry than I expected. Dryer does have a wicked squeak to it (put clothes in the dryer and then go to the beach!) Overall it was great especially during this time of covid.

Great Beach - Dirty Condo

I'll start by saying the beach, view and pools were very nice. The condo on the other hand did not get clean prior to our arrival! There were dead and live spiders and roaches everywhere. I spent the first 2 days cleaning and washing all the comforters, sheets and towels. I was reimbursed for the cleaning fee but it really didn't make up for all the cleaning and lack of communication. Do not rent through Vacasa!! They are impossible to get ahold of and do not care about your stay. We fought off all kinds of bugs throughout our stay! The kitchen had sugar ants in it every day and we never even cooked anything. My daughter had roaches crawling on her at night!!! Just poor management all the way around!!!

Great location- but not decorated like the picture

This was a great location for our family of 6 plus dog. We loved listening to the waves from the patio. It was a 1 minute walk to the beach. Being on the ground floor was perfect for letting our dog out. There were some disappointments with the property. We walked in and the unit smelled like mildew. It might have been just in the entrance/long entry hallway. There was no disinfectant spray or cleaning solutions provided, we had to buy our own (which was difficult to do due to the Coronavirus- luckily we had brought some from home). There was also no laundry detergent provided. The furniture was not arranged how it is shown in the picture and virtual tour. There were fewer throw pillows and no pictures on the wall. I had bought ingredients for smoothies but there was no blender. :( The furnishings were adequate but very minimal. The glass coffee table was dangerous and unsafe. The glass top was not fastened to the legs. It was bumped very slightly and the glass tipped off the legs and crashed, spreading glass everywhere. Not very children/dog friendly. :( Maintenance was very responsive and came right out to clean up the mess. Thankfully no one was hurt. We were some of the few people who braved the Coronavirus and honored our reservation; it was disappointing that the pool, hot tub, and gym were closed during our stay- we would have liked to have known that ahead of time. I would recommend this property and would book it again. You will have to bring your own beach chairs, cleaning supplies, and maybe a few extra blankets for sleeping at night, and your own blender if you want to make smoothies!! :)

The place is really nice. Not the fanciest place, but it worked well. Close to everything you would need. The pool is very nice! Enjoyed our stay. The patio was private and we had a little dog so it was perfect.

Beautiful Except for the "Extra Occupants"

When we entered resort we liked the property and the decor the condo, which looked pristine, and we immediately loved the view! What we didn't love was the cockroaches. On the first day we killed at least (3) large bugs & several more the following days. Also noticed that there was a very large patch of BLACK MOLD in the laundry closet next to the washer/dryer. Hard to relax when you are sneezing a lot and constantly on the look out for bugs.

Mixed feelings

Location of the property was good. It's a ground unit but has access to a good green space which is good for those with pets. Very close to the ocean and the sound of the waves was nice. Interior was nice but there was some water damage on a wall that would have been a pretty easy fix. There were black hairs in the master bathroom that were overlooked by the cleaning crew. That's just nasty. The check-in process through the main gate was painful. The guys running the booth were out of touch and not very accommodating. They also make us wear a wristband for the time during the stay which I guess is a necessary evil given all the freeloaders they would attract if they didn't try and deter. The pool was nice and so was the beach. There was construction going on in the complex and directly above the unit. Not a huge deal; however, work above the condo one morning started very early. Not a good way to relax. All in all the unit was fine, and so was our stay; however, I wouldn't recommend it unless a few simple tweaks were made.

Awesome view

Fantastic place. Had some grass for the kids to play soccer. The view was great. We had an awesome time. Place looked great.

Spring Break trip

I was a bit disappointed with the condo. Dishwasher didn’t work and was full of smelly water. Took three phone calls and 2 days to get someone to come remove the smelly water. Had no dishwasher for our 10 day stay! Location was beach front but patio furniture rusty and dirty—one usable chair. I will say the security on duty were very friendly ; felt very safe.
