Amazingly quaint, quiet and cozy cottage type location. Gorgeous views, relaxing atmosphere and very comfortable. The little market across the street and small town vibe made my stay very enjoyable.
1. Very poor internet connection. It disconnected constantly. We could not get the TV to work, and there is no phone service except through the internet. That made the troubleshooting very hard for the problem we had in the middle of the night (see #2)
2. An inaccessible smoke detector went off in the middle of the night. We called the "host," who is not local. They tried to get the local service to respond. The local service did not pick up. We ended up having to put a soft on its end and stand on the top of that to access the inaccessible attic space where the smoke detector was. This was unsafe and unreasonable. We were told we would receive financial compensation for the disruption and unsafe condition but haven't heard back since.
Overall a great place in a beautiful area next to a skii hill. There were issues with bugs throughout the place when we first arrived. Its important to note there is no mobile service within a mile of this place so make sure to have your wifi and checkin details available. Some parts of the room were dusty and had cobwebs but the owner did have plenty of towels and supplies to make our stay great.
My husband and I Stayed for 2 nights, and the cottage experience was so lovely! We woke up to 3 inch of snow the morning of our departure, but we were grateful that the plow truck plowed around our car around 530am, and the host left a shovel, car brush, driveway salt to ensure we had everything we needed.
Communicating with host/manager was occasionally tricky when AT the cabin- the wifi at the cottage was usually working, but the cell service was so low that once in a while, I got "failure to send text" alerts.
Fortunately, we had little need to reach out during our stay â€ïž would happily return to this tiny cabin!
This was the perfect location for a cozy weekend ski trip. The bungalow was as described/pictured, plowed, shoveled and immaculate. We would absolutely stay again!
We stayed for two nights at this lovely place. We were pleasantly surprised to receive a gift card when we arrived to the local general store just a few steps up the road which we used on coffee in the mornings and snacks.. Everything was very clean, the bed was very comfortable with lovely linens, the shower was great. The views in the back are amazing and we made sure to read in the Adirondack chairs when the weather was nice. Lots of channels to watch TV. The only thing that I might say was a negative was there wasnât any shampoo or conditioner and the sofa was a bit uncomfortable (the back bar protruded into our lower backs). These are minor things and we loved our time here. It was a refreshing and relaxing place to be - we were sorry we didnât bookfor one more day!
A cozy but comfortable bungalow in a beautiful rural setting. We loved walking up to the general store to get coffee and breakfast, and sitting watching the sunset over the hills.
This was a clean, quite, happy place to stay. We were celebrating our 2-year Anniversary and expecting in October and couldnât have asked for a better place to stay. It is just a stoneâs throw away from downtown Woodstock and a skip away to trails and hiking up Suicide Six. We fully recommend this property!!!
This was the most wonderful VRBO stay. The scenery was amazing the property was clean and adorable. The frogs sang all night and the birds chirped us awake in the morning. Perfect stay. The directions to get to the house were lacking. The email I got actually lead us to a house 2 hours away and it was nighttime so we could not contact the company to ask questions. That was the only bad part of the stay. Not sure why that other address was listed on our directions to get there.
We loved staying here! It was the perfect 'tiny homes experience...cozy and well finished (so it totally felt luxury). I was able to WALK to S6 for a lovely day of skiing and the view from inside the accomadations overlooks the slopes (watched the SnowCat groom the trails when I got up at the qee hours of the night - super cool:))! We were literally 5 mins drive from downtown Woodstock and could also walk to a cute little store call 'Teago' with amazing coffee and breakfast sandwiches. Overall, a wonderful stay!
We were able to spend the weekend at J Bar Ranch and had an absolute blast! My girlfriend and I were going on a little weekend getaway and it could not have been more perfect. The property was amazing! The location was even more outstanding as it was at the bottom of ski mountain Suicide Six and across the street from Teago which is a country store that serves breakfast and lunch. This trip was for sure one to remember and this is a place that I will for sure be staying at again!
Our stay at this little condo was just perfect. The finishes all appeared brand new. It is adorable, clean, and comfortable, in the perfect location. The general store is just up the street, and it's a short drive to Woodstock and surrounding attractions.
Lovely little cottage in the back of a farmhouse in the very quiet village of South Pomfret. Lovely and isolated, very quiet and zen during a lovely New England fall.
Gorgeous scenery and comfortable, clean quarters.
Thanks for the gift card! That was a nice touch.
The only issue we had was trying to find a comfortable temperature with the shower. Both of us struggled and never figured it out.
