My family and I were in the area for a wedding, and having a house big enough to accommodate our family was awesome! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and the kids enjoyed the games and activities provided.
We chose this property in hopes to find a rental we could continue to year after year, but as the stay continued, we realized that wasnt the case with this property- not because of the property itself, but due to the constant run around we were given by the property manager. We arent the type of people to complain... ever. But it started with checking in. We arrived right at check- in time and had only received the initial genetic message about the proccess- no code to key entry information. Once we realized this, we attempted multiple times to contact the host. We understood that service in the area is fickle due to the location but it took over an hour for the host to get in touch with us, almost argumentative about speaking to the renter prior to check-in through Facebook, come to find out it was communication with the following renter, not us. Due to this, we lost some groceries and started the experience off on a bad foot. We realized that the air-conditioning wasn't working. We contacted the host and let them know what was happening. I took multiple steps to ensure the house could remain cool enough to be comfortable for sleep; removed filters, cleaned out water from the furnace pan to get it to kick back on, etc. The host was adamant it was one specific issue and I tried to explain that it wasn't and I knew what needed to be done (I am a contractor by trade.) My suggestion fell on deaf ears and we went multiple days without AC.
Parking is somewhat tricky.. not a lot of room if you have bigger vehicles. Overall the host was helpful and always responded quickly. Followed the home on Facebook after booking and they noted they added another suite! No where was it noted that it was an additional cost per night to have this room available to use during your stay so felt slightly deceived by the listing. Overall good location on the water.. very clean! Kayaks were a great bonus.
We had a slight delay in getting into the cabin due to not receiving the code to the lock box. Just said it was sent but I didnât get. I was able to contact host and she provided it within a few mins of our arrival. We enjoyed our stay! We stayed with children and rented a boat from the Marina right down the street. We enjoyed using the kayaks and the children loved all the games that were offered to entertain them. Overall great experience! The house was clean. The location is not close to any shopping and nearest grocery store is about 15-20 mins away but this didnât phase us because we brought our groceries with us. Perfect place to get away!!
We had multiple families and kids of all ages on our trip. The house was very clean, comfortable, well stocked, and had so many fun activities for the kids! Great no wake location and close to the marina making it easy to launch boats. We had a blast!
Have stayed in 9 different houses on Norris Lake. This one rates up there with the best. The property manager was excellent to work with as there were a few minor issues that were resolved quickly. The two things to be known is there are 70 steps from the dock to the house and the house sets back a good distance from the main water.
This was our first year staying at Flat Hollow Marina. We had an awesome stay at Glenâs Getaway! The property was in excellent condition, as advertised. The only complaint we had, the last few steps to the dock were a little sketchy but looked like they may have just been a temporary fix. We also didnât read you needed to bring bath towels (they supply a few) but that was our fault. The kids enjoyed the putting green and ping pong table. We loved being able to have our morning coffee and mimosas on the dock and gather around the dining table on the deck for dinner. Thanks again for being gracious and communicative hosts! In our kids words (22 and 15), this was the best trip ever.
