Like many others have said, this home is so beautiful we hated to leave. The road up is rough, that’s for sure. Renting a jeep is an absolute must. The gorgeous view more than made up for it! One of the biggest highlights of our trip was returning back home around 4 every day just to soak up the view until the stars came out. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept on, besides my own. The linens were top notch too. We slept so well! The host was incredibly responsive and not only did she get immediately back to us with any questions but she was so very kind. It truly made it feel like we were staying with a friend instead of a host. The kitchen is probably the most well-stocked I have ever seen. It was wonderful to have coffee and cream and sugar throughout our stay. The entire home was positively immaculate. We really appreciated that! We loved watching the birds and the goats and sheep. Coral Bay is definitely our favorite part of this beautiful island! We can’t wait to go back!

Would definitely stay here again. The views are unbelievable! The home is very well maintained with kitchen so well stocked. I’ve stayed in many VRBOS in past and never had a place that literally had everything ready. From coffee to beach chairs it was there for our use. Host very responsive. The drive up here is a bit overwhelming at first. Just try to avoid nighttime when looking (our flight was delayed and unfortunately they didn’t work out for us) You definitely need the jeep but the payoff with the views makes it 100 percent worth it. Also the best restaurant IMO was just down the road. We loved Johnny Limes and also market at bottom of drive literally has everything you need so you don’t really need to stop at market in Cruz Bay if you’re risking coming in late into evening.

Amazing Retreat in Paradise!

Family of 3 traveling with a 12yo. Our first trip to the Caribbean and House Aceso provided everything we needed. We loved staying on the quiet side of the island and the views are unmatched. As advertised, 4wd is required to get up to the house. Pictures of the property are correct. Kitchen is well-appointed, best we've ever seen at a rental, including a small gas grill. We brought in our luggage some frozen meat to cook. There are 2 markets in Coral Bay to purchase other groceries at island prices. All of the beach equipment provided is incredibly helpful, including towels, chairs, coolers, and snorkel masks (fins can be rented in town). The pool now has a shade sail over it which is a nice addition. Solar is working great and we had zero issues with power outages. Sunrises were incredible and we had clear skies with no moon for awesome star-gazing every night. We loved beach hopping all over the island - North Shore beaches are easy to access from Coral Bay. Consider a boat outing from Cruz Bay for a day's adventure!Kandee was very responsive - we wouldn't hesitate to rent here again!

Ideal remote spot in Coral Bay

This villa was one of the most unique places we’ve ever rented. It’s definitely a rocky drive going up to the villa but well worth the effort. It felt very welcoming and it was very well equipped. The owners were very responsive and helpful. Not to mention the amazing view that comes with it. The pool at lower part of the villa was very well kept. Over all the villa was extremely ideal for this vacation and our family loved it. I’d definitely recommend it.

Family Spring Beak at House Asceco!

My family of 4 (2 teen girls) had the perfect stay in Coral Bay. Our 5th time on St John and prefer the quieter Coral side vs. Cruz. Such a comfortable house with spectacular views from each level. We loved the layout with different separate floors (bedrooms/main living area) as family members could get away if needed (teens). Very clean and the kitchen had everything we needed (coffee provided which is rare). We also loved all of the wildlife- goats, hummingbirds, dogs, cats and of course donkeys everywhere! Kandee was very helpful and available during our stay and before we came. Pool level (separated by steps) was perfect size, furniture comfortable and of course the views! House is very close to Coral Bay restaurants and stores. The drive to the house is pretty rough (we got lost on way up) as the listing does describe, but very bumpy in a Jeep- we grew to laugh every time driving it but definitely took some getting used to. We absolutely loved our time there.

Amazing views and super comfortable

We had an amazing time in St. John and loved the house! We traveled as a family of 4 with a 10 yr old and 12 yr old. We enjoyed the sunrise and an amazing full moon rise. The drive up is as advertised make sure to get a 4 wheel drive and be ready for a bit of adventure - it’s worth it! Hosts were extremely responsive and we loved all of the beach supplies for snorkeling, relaxing and enjoying the amazing beaches on St. John.

Unbelievable views

The views from the decks and pool are some of the best I have ever seen. The house had everything we needed to cook meals, grill, beach towels and beach chairs. Kandace was quick to respond to the questions we had and offered suggestions on grocery shopping and jeep rentals. It was a bit of an adventure getting up to the house but it was so worth it. It truly was a wonderful week spent with friends exploring the beautiful island of St. John.

Can’t beat the view. House is amazing and exactly as described. It was very helpful they provided beach towels and beach chairs. I concur the previous reviews a 4 wheel drive is needed. Communication was great. Everything was great. Highly recommend.

Our Stay in Paradise

This was our 3rd trip to St. John, and this setting was exquisite. A beautiful home with a beautiful view. The home is large, spacious, clean and comfortable. Our hosts were available, approachable, responsive, and very, very nice. This was our 3rd different rental in 3 years, and we believe that change is a good thing
however we will definitely be staying here on our next visit. This rental not only met our expectations, it exceeded them. -Michael 2025-Our stay could not possibly have been any more enjoyable. This house was absolutely beautiful. I have "issues" with cleanliness and this property was clean even beyond my very high standards. The host was very accommodating, responsive, and went out of her way to make our stay perfect. The bed was unbelievably comfortable, and the memory foam pillows were an unexpected bonus. It was very convenient having a washer and dryer and they both worked very well. The house was very well stocked. I love to cook and there was not a single utensil, pot, pan, or spice that I needed that was not there. The kitchen was spotless, refrigerator and cupboards clean and well organized. But it was the host that made the stay extra special. She was very quick in responding to my messages. I got sand in my phone charging port and needed to use a wireless charger, and Kandee went out of her way to find one for me.-Heather 2025-

Beware. Know before you book and travel...wish we had

Things we wish we would have known before booking. The owner should share all of this key info in the listing for a more-informed rental decision. -Planned power outages with last-minute awareness are common. Upon arrival at 9 PM, we learned the power would be out 10 PM-12 AM all 3 nights of our stay. Night 1 it was out 10-12:20 AM AND 2:30-4 AM. When power returned, the ceiling fan light came on automatically, awakening us. The over-door smoke detector strobe blinks every 35 seconds (timed), and the wall-mounted A/C has a large green display that illuminates the room. We were up from 4:00 AM on and expected the same issues our other 2 nights. -Google Maps is not accurate. You need turn-by-turn directions which the owner sent with check-in info day of check-in, standard. Make sure that day you are in an area with cell signal to receive it. Many beaches and roads do not have good cell signal including Coral Bay. Already out for the day, we wrongly expected driving to the area we would get cell for the check-in info. Wrong. We had to backtrack most of the island for cell signal to get the check-in details, -Don't do the drive at night the 1st time. It is an unlit, glorified trail vs a road...isolated, pitch black, narrow, overgrown, steep, curvy, deep ruts, etc. Washout from Ernesto was only disclosed in the check-in info though happened >2 weeks prior. It was a scary drive at night. Luckily, residents headed home up the hill helped us get to the house. We left after 1 night

Nice, quiet stay.

Property was very nice. It was clean and well-stocked. View was really good and the pool area was great, although we didn't spend a lot of time there considering the shorter stay this time. Host was nice and very responsive. The route to the location has some rough spots and I would highly recommend a 4x4 because of the ground clearance. This was our fourth trip to St. John and second in Coral Bay. We wouldn't hesitate to rent here again.

Gorgeous house and views!

We enjoyed our time at House Aceso! Kandee was a wonderful host and prompt to respond. The house is even nicer in person with all the amenities you could want. The beds are SO comfortable and made for a good nights rest. Our two small children loved seeing all the wildlife and swimming in the pool! Definitely off the beaten path but our kids singing songs about the bumpy roads we will always remember!

Epic St. John Experience

We absolutely loved our stay here. The house was clean, well furnished, and had an impeccable view of Coral Bay. It's definitely remote and off the beaten path, but well worth the Jeep Wrangler adventure up to the house. Kandee was very responsive and a great host. Our two teens loved it, and we would definitely stay here again.

Best views ever

The views at this place are the best we’ve ever seen at a VRBO!! The owners were incredibly nice. They clearly take very good care of the place. Very well stocked, etc. Do not use GPS to get here. There’s a road that GPS thinks goes through, but it does not. Instead follow the turn by turn directions given. They are correct. Road up is bumpy and fun! Theres a small grocery store at the bottom of the hill, which is of course expensive, but very convenient!

Home away from home

This place was absolutely amazing. In the Virgin Islands, I always feel like you should stay high up top to get the best view. This view did not disappoint. It is a rocky climb to the house, so be prepared. The view alone makes it so worth it. The house comes equipped with everything you could think of. You only need your own groceries. It comes with everything you could need to cook a gourmet meal or take a picnic to the beach. The owners are super sweet. They even mentioned the donkeys outside to go play with. They live next door, but were extremely respectful of our privacy. The house was beautifully decorated. I even took pictures of the interior for inspiration. I highly recommend staying here!

Perfect in Every Way

We are just back from an amazing stay at House Aceso and had such a wonderful time. Kandace is so welcoming and has made sure every detail of this special home is perfect. You will want to stay on the deck and gaze at the view all day but other things we enjoyed were a day at Hansen Beach followed by late afternoon lunch at Skinny Legs. Johnny Lime in Coral Bay has incredible BBQ and a great brunch. We spent a day a Maho Bay beach--we went very early (8am) to get parking and had the beach more or less to ourselves until about 10:30 but then it got quite crowded. Hansen was much more our style--low key, uncrowded, very reasonable rentals for paddle boards, cabanas, etc. We also did the Lime Out snorkel trip through Cruz Bay Watersports and enjoyed that a lot. Wear your sunscreen! It is so nice to have the pool at the house as well and it has a little fridge and swing on that deck as well. Again, so many amazing details make this place so special. As the description says, you WILL need a Jeep to get up to this fantastic location but it is SO worth it. The views of Coral Bay and the ocean breezes are just unbelievable . We have a Jeep at home and are used to 4WD but even if you are not, by the end of the week, the trip up the mountain will feel like second nature. We had so much fun and cannot wait to return!

Lovely St. John stay

Please let people know the road is only for drivers experienced in off road driving due to extensive ruts and rocks. Although it may not bother others, I was a bit nervous around the caretakers dog who wandered in and out of our rental. The hummingbirds were great, once my friend cleaned and filled the feeder. The premises were very nice, similar to other St. John rentals we have rented. The pool is small and shallow and has to be cleaned of leaves before it can be used later in the stay. As the host said, the stairs are steep. Renters should know, you have to go outside, down stairs to reach the bedrooms from the living space. Unlike other rentals, the code to enter the property was not available one hour before check in.
