This is a small apartment that served as the chauffeur's quarters in the heyday of the mansion and is located on the incredible Museum Hill in Saint Joe.
The listing has great potential but is in need of some TLC. Bathroom tile was beautiful. Hardwood floors could use a refinishing and bedroom ceiling where there was an apparent leak needs help. The listing should also note there are a lot of stairs involved and broken sidewalks. We are both in our mid-seventies and it was not a problem for us but could be for some. Interior design was appropriate for the period.
Quaint, clean, private and the neighborhood walk was so relaxing and enjoyable!!! Thank you for such a nice and eclectic place to stay for the weekend!
We stayed for two nights and enjoyed the location in the Museum District of St Joseph.
There are a number of excellent food venues within walking distance. We recommend the JC Wyeth House for very fine dining, make sure to call for a reservation at least two weeks in advance.
The Vineyard Mansion is lovely. Situated next to the Wyeth-Toole mansion on a high point in the city that provides a view of the Missouri River.
The location is quiet, with very little traffic and noise. The price is reasonable and the provided amenities are thoughtful.
This great space has several bedrooms and a great living area and kitchen. The beds are comfy and the place is private. The views from the windows overlooking other mansions is nice. Easy in and out with a great location.
Needed a place to stay for a night and the location was convenient for my needs, but also convenient for getting around St. Joe generally. I liked the apartment quite a bit from a layout and design standpoint. I will happily revisit next time I need a get away.
The carriage house is so well furnished and charming with beautiful antiques and decor and is so well equipped for cooking and dining in, as well as entertainment. Very comfortable furniture and bed! We really enjoyed the walking tour of the historic neighborhood. We would like to come back!
The house itself was wonderful, the bed was comfortable and a nice little kitchen. The only issues was the checking in. The house sits back off the road and tucked into next to the mansion,. We didnât arrive until later in the evening and it was DARK, one of us was holding flashlight while the other was unlocking the key holder to even get in, the still pitch black enter the house with no lights on, multiple steps. Was just not the safest. Once we got in though it was wonderful until 2am when the smoke alarm started beeping every 10min for low battery, ceilings too high for us to reach it. We left to head home at 5:00am as no point in trying to get any sleep. Anyhow probably would have been a lovely stay if a few circumstances were different
Beautifully appointed Victorian mansion in St. Joeâs museum hill. Exceedingly well accommodated with kitchen tools, supplies and amenities. Both owner and property manager are very communicative and responsive to needs.
Cozy space on second floor of carriage house. Right across the street from a wonderful museum (formerly mansion home) with restored main floor and other exhibits on 2nd and 3rd floors. Nice booklet provided at the carriage house with info on homes that surround the museum. Makes a nice stroll and viewing of homes there. Museum has special events sometimes and parking occurs on all surrounding streets. If going out to eat, it would be a good idea to see when the event starts and ends so you know when you'll be able to find a parking spot near the carriage house when you get back. Packaged breakfast items and some in refrigerator for self-serve breakfast. Bathroom could use more places to hang bath towels - only one towel bar provided. We enjoyed our stay!
The property is a work in progress as are many of the former mansions in this historic district. The Carriage House is updated and has lots of room, a great shower with plenty of hot water, and all the necessities in the kitchen. We lacked nothing! The location near many fine restaurants and main travel arteries is perfect. Good luck to Jason as he continues the restoration. Root beer the cat is a nice concierge.
This is our favorite place to stay. Beautifully appointed, kitchen well stocked and accommodating. Great part of the country with so much history. Most of all owner very easy to communicate with. We will always return here.
Comfortable, beautiful antique furnishings with all of the extras you might need to complete a meal. Book shelves full of reading materials from books of interesting topics and current periodicals. Extremely quiet inside, no traffic noise. Can't wait to go back asap.
Vineyard Mansion is our favorite place. The Carriage House was perfect for our needs with family gathering in St. Joseph. As usual, it was well appointed and very accommodating for a group of four.
another great stay! his was our 5th time staying at the vineyard mansion.. carriage house is perfect for longer stays. easy check in and out. on site manager very helpful and responsive. will definitely stay again.
