We loved staying here! Best Vrbo Iâve ever stayed it. Had everything we needed. It is so cute. The pull out bed was even great. We would love to stay here again. 10/10 recommend!
Cute, but only for 2. Pros: Clean and all in working order. In the incredible Shaw neighborhood. Within easy walking distance to food, coffee, and Tower Grove Park. Responsive hosts. Cons: Not appropriate for more than 2 adults. 4 of us stayed and it was cramped. The âsofa bedâ is a child-sized Ikea piece with thin foam cushions that fold out to a double-sized âbed.â Host did try to warn us. Unfortunately no thermostat access, and not enough blankets to warm up in the arctic temperature. Tiny bathroom and shower stall that would not accommodate large bodies. Overall, I would maybe stay again, but only by myself or with my spouse.
The property was perfect for what we needed. We were in town for a ballgame so we really just needed a spot to sleep. The place was clean and the are was quiet!
Cute little place to stay! Wish the kitchen had a toaster oven or air fryer since no stove. Overall Good communication with the host. Side/back entry was a little confusing especially in blizzard like conditions.Overall would suggest to others.
So cute and Cozy. Would definitely stay again. Gave 4 stars for neighborhood because of the parking. Other than that everything was Great. TV in the bedroom was a bit small. And the sound machine wouldnt stay on. Still a great place to stay
We enjoyed our stay at the fox den for a weekend! Property was very close to downtown St. Louis and the neighborhood was very homey. The check in and check out process was smooth. The decorations were very cute and the property was small but homey. It was perfect for my husband and I. It was very easy to hear the tenants footsteps and voices upstairs. Luckily we didnât spend a whole lot of time there during the day and it really wasnât an issue overnight. They do provide earplugs and an Alexa to play white noise so that is nice. Overall, had a good stay here and would recommend to a couple for a short term stay!
The Fox Den is a cozy, quaint place to stay. It is in a great location. However, it is for small or short people only, as there is not much headroom for somebody six feet tall or somebody who is of wide girth. It is well decorated but it is rather small space.
My husband and I had a lovely couple of days here. The neighborhood is great and the space itself is great, too. Itâs very cozy and cute. The only thing I would warn people about is that the shower is kind of small, so plan accordingly if you are taller or larger.
If I had known this would be a basement apartment, I would not selected it with all the recent and forecasted rain. The apartment was too cold for me to be comfortable. I needed to know how far the residence was from the train station, but he did not respond to my email until after I arrived. The people upstairs has several children and everyone including the adults were all very noisy. Between the noise and the cold, I got very little sleep during my stay. I was miserable. This was not worth what I paid for it. Next time, I will get a hotel.
This place was very cute! The noise of upstairs tenants is a little intense so I donât recommend if youâre a light sleeper. However the location was great and we had no trouble with surrounding guests and natives. It was uniquely decorated and cozy. I will say the floors were a tad dirty, and there were cobwebs on the ceiling and window sills. Also the shower is extremely small and leaky. All small issues and we enjoyed our 2 night stay!
The property and neighborhood are great and as advertised. Some items to note: I am 6 foot 3 inches tall, this is a basement unit and some of the air ducts are at 6 feet causing me to duck all during the stay. Plus the shower is very small not allowing you to bend down to wash your legs very well. There also is no toaster in the unit. We could live with all these items, but gave 4 stars instead of 5 because of it. The unit is decorated very nicely.
I stayed one night at the Fox's Den with my 17 year old son. It was uncomfortable from the very first moment we stepped in - complete darkness with no indication of where the light switches could be located (far from the entrance, on the other side of the room). The space is a lot smaller than the photos make it seem. The hosts have certainly taken a lot of care in branding this listing, as there are tons of foxes and woodland accessories, but very little attention paid to the actual comfort of the guests. The pull-out sofa is tiny and strange, and you have to move furniture to make it into a bed. There are a million rules posted everywhere, but no meaningful instructions, like how to work the televisions or how to keep the shower from leaking. Neither of the televisions would turn on, which was disappointing after a long day of driving. The host stopped responding to my questions directly after we checked in. The last impression of the place was that the host didn't communicate that I would get a parking violation for parking in front of the house on the first Wednesday of the month, which is apparently street cleaning day. As a person traveling from out of state there was no way for me to know about this situation. So, I now have to pay a fine that could have been avoided very easily with a quick heads-up. Over all our stay was very annoying. Would not recommend.
