As a solo, female traveler, Iâm always a little hesitant when staying places, but this cabin was fantastic! It was close enough to other homes to feel safe and private enough that I got the seclusion I was looking for. I really felt like I had my own little mountain with a gorgeous sunrise and sunset view. Great directions and explanation from the host, and they were very communicative with any questions I had. I highly recommend using a AWD or 4WD vehicle though. While my 2WD sedan made the switchbacks up the cabin, it was a little tough.
The cabin was ok , its was cold the fireplace is drafty , there are no curtains on the windows , the bathroom ceiling is full of black mold , all the dishes needed washed before use they had food an grime on them , the shower head did not work well , and if you are a larger person you will NOT be able to sit on the toilet.
The cabin was everything I needed. Quiet, beautiful surroundings, and peaceful. The cabin was equipped with everything you could possibly need, and very comfortable. Such a beautiful place to stay, thank you
The cabin was cozy but not particularly clean. The deck needs TLC. Driveway leading to cabin a bit treacherous.Ryann, the host was very responsive to our questions. The view is very pretty. Queen bed was comfortable.
Hi⊠the cabin was adorable and clean, kitchen, bedrooms and bathroom except for the stink bugs. Driveway was steep and narrow and I made it up but wasnât expecting it⊠might be harder for a car that doesnât have power or good tires. The view was great and it was quiet. It had everything we needed. My only really negative comment is that it smelled musty like a wet basement. I am very sensitive to smells and have asthma so that was hard for me as well as the other person staying as they have bad allergies. That made the stay not so wonderful. Regardless, loved the place but I canât say it was a great stay because of the smell.
This cabin had so much potential to be a great place to stay, but it was really dirty. Bugs in the lamps, all around the kitchen sink and window. I had to clean the kitchen before feeling comfortable to use it. The oven was filthy. The bathroom floor was dirty, as well as the mildew-covered shower curtain and ceiling. We were left with one kitchen towel and no kitchen wash clothes, as well as 2 rolls of TP for the week. I had to go buy both. The deck is in need of some TLC. The fireplace doesn't appear to work. This was a mediocre stay for us. We did appreciate the large selection of DVDs, as well as clean bed linens. With some attention to details, this could be a really great place to enjoy while visiting Shenandoah NP.
Everything was pretty much exactly what we expected. No major issues with the cabin, nice views, quiet location & dog friendly (huge plus!)It was the perfect size, they had plenty of dishes in the kitchen & some seasonings to use. A few pans looked like they werenât cleaned all the way but we just rewashed them before use, no big deal. Huge dvd selection was awesome! Water pressure in the shower was nice & bed was comfortable. The only thing that could have used some improvement was the lighting outside at the bottom of the steps. Super dark down there when taking the dogs out at night & all we had were our phone flashlights. But other than that, everything was good! Communication from the host was great & getting in the cabin was quick & easy. Way better experience with check in & communication than the last place I stayed! Overall great experience & I would definitely stay here again.
The cabin sits in an amazing location but the travel up the mountain we were not fully prepared for neither car had 4 wheel drive. We managed to make it up but it was rough. Cabin has everything you need and feels like home. We had are dogs with us and they loved being able to hang out off leash. If Iâm ever in that area again Iâd definitely rent again.
The cabin had a wonderful view, and we enjoyed sitting on the deck in the evening. The drive up was very steep, and there were many stairs to climb to get up to the cabin. I am glad we had 4-wheel drive. There is no internet in the cabin other than our phoneâs hot spot, and the cell signal is not very strong. Overall, we did enjoy our stay.
We enjoyed our little get away. The house was clean and didnât smell as if pets had been there. The instructions were very helpful, especially for the driveway. It is in the woods, so bring bug spray if you want to sit out on the deck.
Great base for a hiking weekend in Shenandoah. Note that the property has no WiFi, but we did have some cell service. The kitchen was not well stocked, but it was generally clean and tidy. Iâd recommend a car with four wheel drive for getting up to the property because the drive was a bit treacherous!
My husband, our fur baby and I enjoyed our stay. This location and house fulfilled every expectation we were hoping for when staying in Virginia (1st time to this state). Absolutely stunning view of the sunset. Quiet and secluded. The house was furnished with everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable. Directions and communication from the host was excellent! We had no complaints!
I would definitely recommend that people staying at this cabin bring a 4WD car because the driveway was steep and scary! However, we loved the cabin, the patio, and the view. It was a cozy and quiet weekend getaway and we had a great time!
