- The host didn't provide wifi password even if I asked. They are supposed to write that on the cover of the guest instruction book but the info is empty.- Chair was broken when I sat on it. - Electricity went out on Christmas Eve in a snow storm, and we couldn't go anywhere. Fortunately light went back after a while.

Views did not disappoint, exactly what we were looking for each morning and evening! From photo to reality this was it. Property was in good shape inside. Honestly with kids be prepared for climbing lots of stairs, its a workout especially with elevation. Not a deal breaker just be prepared to plan your journey up or down to minimize extra work. 1 TV which was nice to use briefly and keep nights calm with kids, no tv's in bedrooms. Mudroom at front door was nice to put gear, suitcases etc. Kitchen had a lot more seasonings and spices that we expected, was nice to have the options. Nice big fridge and ice maker upped it for us when we were doing outings each day. Parking was a little confusing, need to read the instructions clearly. Only downside we had was the neighbors speaker system blasting and vibrating the walls when they were there. The walls in the living room joining theirs must be thin - we heard plenty of drunk conversations including the forehead smack of "turn it up". Sort of took the 5 down to a 3.X pretty fast, caused a bunch of stress for my kids too. Long as that one part is managed/smoothed out you should expect a wonderful stay here at the Black Bear Lookout!

In town for American Century Golf Tournament

First time in Tahoe with our kids. We came into town for the golf tournament and stayed for a few days to enjoy Lake Tahoe. We loved the location and every person enjoyed the beautiful views from their bedroom. Pros: the views, location, communication, clear instructions, Cons: the ceiling fan in our room didn’t work and we are used to a fan so we missed the air movement and it was hot in the evenings so we didn’t sleep so well. I recommend fixing the fan and installing one in each room. There are nightstands and hanging closet organizers for clothes. I recommend actual dressers which would be much nicer. We couldn’t find where to put the trash since there was not great signage in streets and that’s no fault of the owners. Since there will be cleaning people coming anyway, it might be better to just have renters put all the trash in one bag and leave it tied up and knotted in the trash can just inside the front door. Of course if people stay longer and have more trash during their stay, they would need to find the garbage dumping place earlier; this just wasn’t our situation since we had such a short stay and didn’t really have much trash.

Beautiful but dusty

We were very excited for our stay, until we got questioned about my mom’s service dog who we ended up not taking because we felt less welcomed. After the back and forth and getting told I’m not telling the truth we took the chance and didn’t bring the service dog. This was very upsetting. When we arrived the place looked cozy and warm but when we got settled we noticed all the dirt and grime all over . Not to mention there was like 5 or 6 stories. There was dust on all the light fixtures long stringy cob webs hanging down from chandeliers and used toilet paper rolls set out for us to use. The carpets were all stained but I do understand that to some degree. Also The thermostat the whole week we were there was hit or miss. The fireplace didn’t work and there was no BBq. The cons definitely outweighed the pros. The only pro being the gorgeous view! Last thing I will say about this place is that when we took the teach out as asked we had to go all the way down and around to get to where we needed to dump it. This was such a far fetched ask. I would not recommend this place!

Fantastic View

My family and I saved this property for four days, and it was one of the best vacations we’ve ever taken. The views from this property are absolutely stunning. Having the bedrooms on each floor allows for family members to have their own space which really enjoyed our time at this property. While we were there, we experienced a snowstorm and the house was supplied with all the things we needed to clear the pathways and the vehicle.

Beautiful View!

We stayed for 6 nights and really enjoyed our stay. Make sure to bring soap for showers (hand soap in bathrooms, but no soap in shower areas) and laundry soap if you plan on doing it. Some nice updates have been done, but it would really be spectacular if the carpeting in the unit was replaced, as well as drapes that fit the 3rd floor bedroom. Directions that the unit is on the opposite side of the unit would be helpful because the entrance is not seen from the road because of rocks that block the view. Also, parking for the unit is not right next to the unit, but on the other side of a separate unit.

Black bear Lookout

Great property with a beautiful view! Beds were comfy and clean kitchen was clean and had basic essentials. The only thing that was not mentioned in description was that this property had multiple levels with stairs which was difficult for my 2 year old. Other than that this property was great!
