Overall the weekend was great. The locatio. Of the house was just right. The cottage itself could do some upgrades for the amount of money that was spent there for a weekend. And I definately did not like that the boat slips are first come first serve. But the grounds where everything was located was very nice and I did like that there was plenty of trailer parking.
The was hardly any kitchen supplies, one tiny fry pan ..big enough to fry one egg at a time. There was only 2 glasses 4 bowls and 6 plates and 2 pots. I took pictures. All the a rentals i have had in the past are adequately stock so you can cook a decent meal. I called and she brought 1 fry pan from her house almost 2 hours later . we ran to the dollar store and bought a cheap set so we could cook breakfast. The master bed and pillows are very hard..but not the end of the world. Just very disappointed in the kitchen. I left the cheap fry pans for next guest. It may also be nice to have extra toilet paper, there was only one roll no back and maybe a few extra towels , there is a lot of water activities. There was exactly six, so going to the pool etc you were constantly recycling your pool towel with your shower towel. I am not going to post a negative review for the public..overall my stay was great. Just some tips for future guest
The property is on a resort property that is very cute with more than average things to do for the area. It was clean and adequately furnished and the manager was super nice. I would consider staying again. However, there are some glaring holes in how the space is equipped. The kitchen especially was frustrating. There were zero knives for cooking, the can opener doesnât work, the coffee pot was miniature and only makes five cups of coffee, there were only two of some items like coffee cups and bowls. There were no garbage bags provided but thankfully I brought some. Then it was disappointing to have motel level mattresses, towels and paper products - mattresses are not comfortable, and the towels are tiny and thin. Also being a fishing destination I would have loved up front communication on exactly where the boat ramp was and dockage ahead of time because the resort roads are one lane and not easy to navigate with a boat. These are all easy changes and outside of these we enjoyed our time on the property.
This is our second time here and we are already planning our trip here next year! We LOVE this property! Canât say enough GREAT things about it! We would recommend this place over 100%!!!!!
Wonderful cottage in a fantastic neighborhood. Loved the access to the docks on Steinhatchee river. Great accommodations with everything needed for a short family stay.
Spacious, but could be cleaner and better equipped
Steinhatchee Landing itself was great and half of our family was staying in another property just a skip down the path.
Having stayed at Steinhatchee Landing a few times as a child, my family was looking forward to a return after decades of having not visited and were very impressed with how well maintained the grounds and home exteriors. The only bummer for the kids was that the petting zoo didn't actually allow for petting and all animals are gated off.
Our unit #8 was great in terms of being more than enough space for our party of 5, however a few improvements would have made our stay better -- the dishwasher doesn't work so when we arrived a load of the prior guest's dishes were in there and still dirty, as were the pots/pans in the cabinets. The kitchen wasn't the most well equipped with full sets of items (e.g. there were only four forks and a couple bowls, no cutting board). Our unit was also missing the amenities key upon check-in (luckily we gained access given our family staying in another unit had a key). Management was responsive to a phone call and came to correct the immediate issues we had identified, which was appreciated.
A few other small details -- the king pillowcases aren't property sized for the regular sized pillows, there was only one extra roll of TP, and even though this property is listed as sleeping six the table seating and kitchen aren't really outfitted to do so.
Since we came for scalloping, we had a great time. With a few corrections, this unit could be excellent for families.
The community was gorgeous, so charming. Loved the resort the unit was in. We were there during the week so although the house is subdivided into three units, ours was the only one occupied. We spent quite a bit of time just walking the property. The dog park is great, big. Cute chapel. The grounds are kept up beautifully. The unit itself was nice, clean and centrally located in the complex. One challenge, all doors creaked, need oiling, the pocket door doesn't work. Kitchen well stocked. Wifi was great. If you don't fish or scallop and are coming to relax its in a perfect place. if you aren't, there isn't much to do other than hang, but trust me, the property is great to just walk. We felt extra safe.
Very good overall, just the sofa bed was broken but the manager did everything she can to fix the situation, we enjoy it and will be back on summer for scallop season
Everything was great . The only thing we were missing was the glass on the table in the back porch. Also could have had more toilet paper and dishwashing detergent. Overall we had a fantastic time!! We will come again!!
We enjoyed our stay in Victorian 8. Everything you need and close proximity to fishing/scalloping. The unit was very clean and well equipped. The whole property was absolutely adorable! Weâd definitely stay again.
My family and I stayed here on a quick weekend getaway. There are six of us, 2 adults, 4 teen/tweens. The home was a comfortable size and there were multiple outdoor seating options, including a screened in porch. Next to this rental is a large open grass space with a volleyball net. We spent a LOT of time playing together and it was definitely a highlight of the trip. The âcommunityâ offers so many amazing things like outdoor fire pit spots for anyone to use and these rocking chairs that face the river with garden lights that come on at dusk. There is a community pool/sauna and play area for the kids. Not to mention a petting zoo! Overall, it was a low key but refreshing getaway. PS, Kathiâs restaurant is a lot of fun with live music and great service! We went 2x and trust me, the low country boil is bomb and so is Mandi the waitress! Also, McDavids breakfast place has homemade donuts that are literally the best Iâve ever had!!! Enjoy your stay ;)
