the descriptions and pictures were accurate and the property was absolutely stunning. we enjoyed the beauty and the solitude and were close enough to Acadia to enjoy all that was available in day trips. The kitchen was very well equipped which made our culinary efforts a joy. The property manager was very responsive for any quesitons we had. I highly recommend this property!

This was a gorgeous place to make a home base for day trips or just to spend days watching the wildlife. Very clean, open, bright and airy. The views were spectacular, especially if you love bird watching. Bald eagles every day! Color us impressed

Shoreline Solitude Retreat, Just What We Needed!This was exactly what our family needed! From the cozy cottage to our amazing host Wanda, the whole experience left us wanting more.The cottage was perfect, the salty air along the shoreline made for the best mornings meditation, and the open layout plus all that natural sunlight made the space feel warm and welcoming all day long.There’s plenty to do nearby, from local spots to explore to great food that will definitely satisfy your taste buds. Our little one didn’t want to leave, and even my wife agreed, and that was after a late check-out!All I can say is, this place truly deserves the name! If you’re thinking about booking it

We loved our stay. The location was amazing with a beautiful view of the water. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and enjoying the view. The house had everything we needed. We love to cook and the kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans. The property manager was amazing and very helpful, especially when our car broke down. I would definitely stay here again and would let my friends know about this place.

My wife and I truly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was perfect and the view of the bay was awesome. Seals, Eagles and occasional dolphins were most morning. The cabin was well equipped with everything you need for cooking; but other than breakfast we did not take advantage. The mornings were best for sure. Peace and quiet, nice place for my morning bible study and enjoying Gods beauty. Wanda, the property manager was so so great. We had a few issues but she was all over it and was greatly appreciated. We mentioned the porch needed recliners one day and that afternoon there were 2 recliners. Can’t say enough. We would definitely consider staying here again. It’s about 50 minutes from Bar Harbour.

Relaxing cabin in the woods

Family Tides is a relaxing cabin in a private setting nestled in the woods. Guests will enjoy sitting on the porch watching the wildlife- seals,Bald eagles, deer and many different birds. The cabin is in a remote setting but a quick drive tothe next town gives access to a grocery store, excellent Mexican restaurant and a seafood market. We enjoyed the proximity to the Schoodic Peninsula, Bar Harbor and Acadia. Wanda the property manager is wonderful to work with. If you are seeking solace from the busy world, you will find it here. Our one suggestion would be to switch out the queen mattress for a king sized bed in the main bedroom.

A Perfect Stay

We had the privilege of staying here for August. The house totally works but come here for the location: right on the water, with eagles and osprey hunting every day, not to mention the occasional seal, and regular deer visits. The area does not have a big tourist infrastructure; for us, that was fine, but you have to make your own fun. Definitely visit the nearby Schoodic Peninsula.

WOW!

We cannot sing the praises of this property loudly enough! The view is so peaceful, the sounds of the bald eagles was a first for us, the seals sunbathing on the rocks, the cleanliness of the property, the fully-stocked kitchen - all of these things led to one of the most relaxing vacations we have had in a long time. The information about grocery stores and the typical "tourist" information provided by the property manager was so helpful in planning out the activities for the week. Just two things you need to know - make sure you have a pass to get into the parks - the park rangers check for them! - and it is a bit of a drive to get back to places to shop so ask the property manager - she is a wonderful source of information!

The perfect coastal Maine experience!

Amazingly beautiful, quiet and relaxing coastal Maine gem! The cabin is immaculate and the perfect size. It is modern but still has that nature/cabin feel. Well equipped and stocked with everything you need. Positioned perfectly on the edge of the ocean bay. You rarely hear a sound other than nature and a few lobster fishermen’s boats. So relaxing to sit on the porch to watch sunrises, sunsets, the tide rise and fall, birds and lobster boats. We especially enjoyed watching a pair of seals feed just off bank each evening. Very secluded and private but close to quaint local towns and so many Maine experiences. We hope to return again!!
