Two day stay in Alveston Manor Hotel

The head server in the breakfast restaurant was extremely rude and needs training on how to deal with guests. Making people feel like a criminal in front of the other guests is very low class!!!

Lovely building. Very short walk to the town itself. Nice grounds. Food was nice. We had breakfasts there. The room was a nice size, clean and spacious. Let downs were no air conditioning i was told i was supposed to request this? I thought all rooms had air con. So be mindful of this in your bookings. Asked to change rooms though they were fully booked. Room was stifling. There was just a fan in the room. It seemed several had these. Iron did not work properly. Reported that the same evening. Was told it would be looked at. Never was. Useless never bothered using it after that as i spent more time blow drying the dress with a hair dryer as the iron just piddled water everywhere. Elemis products very nice but nothing located near the bath and you had to keep standing up to fill a glass of bath and shower gel to use. The head of the restaurant could do with putting a smile on. We were greeted by herself and the young waiting on team. They were beaming from ear to ear and very pleasent. Every time we visited it was "room number please" from this lady. A shame really. A smile goes a long way.

Lovely place, but needs more attention to detail

Very attractive buildings and grounds, but lack of attention to detail rather blunted our enjoyment of the stay. I had rung ahead to request a sheet and blanket raher than a duvet, and someone had called to say this would be arranged. It had not: there was an extra, empty duvet cover on top of the duvet on the bed, The receptionist tried to find me a blanket, but to no avail. There was no fridge in the room, although a cupboard had clearly held one in the past. We had the afternoon tea, which was good, but took 35 minutes to arrive after the booked time. It was in the bar, not in the restaurant as we had been told, and the heroic and excellent single barman had to go repeatedly to the kitchen to see where it was. We paid fro breakfast on the first morning, but were not told that the full menu would not be available as it was a weekend.

Quiet with very good onsite facilities, close to Stratford centre and easy vehicle access with plentiful parking. Comfortable spacious room, breakfast options fine, if a little pricey. Main area for improvement is check in. It was slow and understaffed at times.

Slow check in and out with only one staff member available. However staff member was efficient. Nice room and surroundings but all needs a spruce up as looking tired. Pool was very good but busy at the time we visited. Breakfast was good. Good variety of food options with staff working hard in a hot environment. Great to be able to walk into town centre and RSC. Easy parking. This is a dream of a location with spacious grounds so near to town centre but needs money spending on it to keep it a top location.

The room was so hot, so we had the very noisy fan on all night that was extremely dusty. The bed was very uncomfortable and the window couldn't stay open much. The bathroom was dirty from the floor to around the tap and in the sink. Very old facilities.

Great location

Great location and very comfortable bed. Breakfast average and rooms way too hot. Unable to sleep even with the fan on. AC not working in both rooms we looked at. Could do with some updating, the surface was peeling off our sink! Maybe an infection control issue. Staff worked hard and were friendly.

Romance n chilling

Old building; would prove difficult for disabled as no lifts. For us no problem apart from Room 227 being a distance away from Reception. Room n bed comfortable; we ate out in town which has a fantastic choice of restaurants n pubs. Good base, central location
