The house was great, neighborhood perfect. The beds, linens, kitchen all could not have been better. Two issues, the master bathâs vanity looked melted with a larger burn mark on the floor, both should be updated. Not sure if the house had been empty for awhile, there was a layer of dust on the master headboard and cobwebs in the master closet. All of the controls, TV, fans, need new batteries.
Location was great. Beautiful sunsets Couldnât use pier due to unstable walkway. Tree in backyard half way down and unsafe. Screen on porch was broken we fixed. Also screens were very dirty with cobwebs very hard to see out. Mattresses all need to be replaced. Kitchen super unorganized, hard to find things. The shower off the kitchen was filthy. Rug in front of fireplace is a tripping hazard we tripped a lot. Broken shower fan in master bathroom. I would not recommend without major cleaning and repair.
the property was dated, was at the end of the road next to the forest. the backyard was not very well kept and overall the property needs some love. the lake view though from the backyard (and from the sunroom and one of the bedrooms) was amazing!we booked it fairly late, and we planned to spend time out of the house most of the day, so was not as much of an issue for us.wrt kitchen - the bare minimum things were there - Oil, salt and pepper. pots, pans, glasses, utensils were all there, so no issue. water had a weird small- i am unsure if this is generally true in the area or was specific to the house, so i cant add any more context on it.target was 10 mins drive away, so was sturgeon bay. the rental company was responsive on email when the wifi broke, but it was time for us to leave, so wasnât much that could have been done.overall did the job, though i wonât stay here again.
Loved the screened in porch. Very nice home, great view from the master bedroom. The only improvement would be to mow a path to the pier from the back yard and remow the path from the front yard to the pier. There was poison ivy on the path that was on the side yard.
Peaceful setting right on the lake. Property was as good as advertised. Very clean and all amenities worked well. Location was nice if you were looking for a quiet location which we were. Owner was easy to communicate with and responsive. Had a great weekend!
Nice accommodations for our group of 7. Neighbor Bob super. Gave us more firewood and recommendations. Great sunset view. Place could use updating but clean. Coffee maker took forever to brew- maybe needs descaling?
Our stay was absolutely amazing! This charming home was clean and equipped with games and such to make for a fun weekend. The host is very reliable and easy to communicate with. The view of the water is spectacular and the location is perfect, slightly secluded and easy to find.
I highly recommend this home for a delightful stay in door county.
A few updates needed. During our stay we wanted to use the toaster, but it did not work. No big deal but was an inconvenience. The coffee pot was also broken, and the dishwasher leaked. When a storm blew through, they were amazing and getting back to us, when damage occurred.
I would recommend staying here with friends or family. It was beautiful.
We stayed here to enjoy fall colors in Door County in October 2022. This house has such an amazing view of lake and we can just walk to the lake from patio space. It's very near from Potawatomi state park just about 10 mins drive. It's a bit in secluded area...you need to drive 15-20 mins to find any shops from milk etc but overall it's a great location and nice house. A lot of owls in the hosue as the name suggests :-)
Our group of 5 women (ages mid thirties to mid sixties) had a blast at this home. It is beautiful, clean, and is spacious. The neighbor is so nice and gave us some great ideas for restaurants and day trips. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The screened patio was perfect! The open concept lay out was great for inclusion no matter where you were. No cell reception there for us which made it a great place to disconnect. Wifi was available which still allowed you to connect a bit if you wanted.
Overall, great stay! A bit pricey but we splurged for our family outing. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
We had a great time at The Owl's Nest in Sturgeon Bay.
The place was clean, well-stocked with kitchenwares, and beddings, and a dock, firepit, and a screened back patio. A perfect place to watch the sunset, and to hear the waves and birds. The only negative thing was not being able to use the grill since it wasn't ckeaned before our group came, but we did get to use the firepit to grill. If there things needing attention the maintenance staff was there quick to fix. We would recommend this place to rent from again.
Overall, a nice place to stay for our weekend in Door County. The waterfront views were beautiful and the fire pit outside was perfect. The house is quite nice and spacious for playing games and relaxing. The next-door neighbor, Bob, was so friendly and knowledgeable about the area. He also offered us water shoes to use and firewood - so nice!
We were aware the place had no A/C but we stayed during a particularly warm/humid weekend in early August and there wasnât as much of a breeze coming from the lake as we expected. The place got pretty hot. We opened windows in the evening but swarms of tiny bugs came through and were drawn towards every light (all doors were closed and there were screens on the windows - we thought maybe the screens werenât woven tight enough or had holes in places).
Nice place and great location. No cell phone service and the dock was not in the water as the pictures showed. Also the porch did not have screens on so could not use that due to mosquitos. There was an unpleasant lady that told us we needed to move our vehicles within a short time after arrival.
