Perfect for a Family Beach Vacation

Great location in Sunset Beach and one of the best stocked rentals we’ve ever stayed in! Everything you could need for cooking and a lot of beach items (chairs, wagon, sand toys, etc) as well. Rosie and Yitzy were so helpful and kind before and during our stay.

This beach home was a perfect getaway for our family of 6 to relax and spend time together. We could easily access the beach, and the hosts provided lots of beach gear and in-home entertainment to keep everyone happy for those rain or sun-break opportunities off the beach. Shuffleboard was a ton of fun!

We had a wonderful stay at Grateful Dunes! Rosie and Yitzy provided clear and easy check-in instructions and were very friendly and helpful. We appreciated all the attention to details on the property. The house was clean and well stocked with everything we needed for the week. The location was perfect with easy access to the beach. Best week ever!

We loved Grateful Dunes and Yitzy and Rosie were excellent hosts. We have never stayed in a rental property that was so well equipped. All the tools for cooking, games, DVDs, beach canopies, toys and floats. I could go on and on. We all enjoyed the property and the beach, the helpful information and the friendliness of the hosts. Even the dog had a great week! I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks!

Made the best of tropical storm Debbie

Unfortunately hate when the storm hit but made the best of it. Rosie and Yitzie were super responsive and helpful through all the weather challenges. The location and layout were great for us with two bedrooms on each side and a full bath to split for each set of bedrooms. All of the board games and shuffleboard were key with all of the rain.

Great things @ Grateful Dunes!

We had an amazing stay at Grateful Dunes! Easy arrival and check in. This home allows you to "bring nothing from home but your clothes and bathing suits" -- from starter TP/Paper Towels/Tissues to pots/pans/crockpot/kitchen supplies (you name it, they have it (even a "name that utensil" challenge in one of the drawers!). The beach supplies were also well stocked - chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, sand toys. Newly renovated bathrooms, kitchen appliances, and sliding door with screen. And, games and puzzles which gave us fun conversation at dinner and during rainy times. The owners are in an upper level apartment; they are lovely and yet you don't know they are there unless you need them for something and then they are really responsive and ooh so kind!! We would stay here again for sure!!!

Our stay at "Greatful Dunes"

I have to honestly say, this is the BEST beach house we have ever stayed at!! Hands down! Yitsy and Rosie were the most professional, gracious and informative host I have ever encountered at a vacation destination! The house was perfect for our week stay, stocked with everything you would think you need and more. Even our little Doxie had a great time at this house, he loved the deck! When we ever go back to Sunset Beach we will always try to stay here! Our thanks for a most enjoyable vacation!

Perfect vacation getaway in quaint Sunset Beach

The home was well maintained, and (as described) steps from the beach. Sunset beach is a quiet town, which was just what we were looking for. There were plenty of things to do (Shuffleboard had just been completed!) when not at the beach, and most beach sundries were available to borrow. Kitchen was well appointed, and made dining at home easy and enjoyable.

Slice of paradise

This property was exactly as advertised. Clean, comfortable, homey and stress free. Lots of small touches that make you feel that you are truly someone's houseguest. The shelves filled with books, boardgames and videos were a terrific bonus. Great kitchen fully equipped. Great access to beach with generous safe parking. Close to pier and shops. Nice House but owners are on property

Booked this house through VRBO without thinking I had to read every line of every description. Since VRBO says they only rent houses that do not have the owners on property apparently doesn't mean exactly that. The owners are on an apartment on the top of this house with use of stairs and driveway.

Another great stay!

3rd Year renting this property. Excellent location and our family really enjoys the home. Our dog loves the front covered deck. There have been updates done to the home the past couple of years and the updated bathrooms and flooring are really nice. We appreciate the updates and really enjoy the home. Comfortable relaxing get away

The house was comfortable with recently updated bathrooms. Layout of house was perfect with a bath between two bedrooms on each side of house. Loved the front porch with plenty of seats. Short walk to pier or the ice cream shop.

Grateful Dunes has once again not disappointed. The house is perfect for a family and visiting friends- spacious, warm, inviting. The hosts make sure little things are there that make living away from home easier-- from sandwich bags to sponges... shampoo in the outside shower (& we passed along full bottles to pay it forward)... paper supplies, laundry detergent... any kitchen pot/pan/appliance you need... to a water dispenser and 5 gallon jugs refilled and waiting.. to games, crafts, and beach chairs.. Atop all that is the kindness and hospitality of the owners, who live upstairs. All this and pet friendly so our dog was a part of our memories here!! Grateful Dunes- we will be back again next year!! there is no need to look anywhere else and our family/friends beach time has landed it's traditional meeting spot on your cozy covered patio!! thank you Yitzy and Rosie!!

Another excellent stay!

Our second year staying at the property and another excellent stay. Everything we needed and then some and the location was great. The front porch is always a favorite for our family and our 2 dogs. Always great to see Yitzy and Rosie and appreciate them allowing us to rent their home.

Forever Grateful Dunes

Four generations spent 2 weeks at Grateful Dunes. The house is set up perfectly for multiple guests. The owners were upstairs in their crow's nest apartment, but were never intrusive and when asked supplied wonderful information. The location is convenient to the beach and small shops and a short drive into Sunset Beach (town) or Calabash. We did both numerous times. I totally loved it.

Absolutely awesome!!

We had an incredible stay at Grateful Dunes! The location is unbeatable, and the house itself has all the amenities needed! From all the cozy chairs on the gated front porch, to the little touches inside like books, craft activities, games, and bears (great for "eye spy")... The hosts, Rosie and Yitzy, were kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay! They felt like family by the end!! Can't recommend this highly enough!!
