The first room we were shown, room 12, was right next to the kitchen. It stank of food and was very noisy from the kitchen fan. We declined to stay in it and we were offered a room which had none of these problems. It was clean and spacious with a comfortable bed and a very nice bathroom. Unfortunately the TV remote didnât work despite the efforts of staff to fix it and tractor on the premises, roared to life very close to our window at 6.10am.
We ate on the premises and found that the things we wanted were not available, apparently because it was Monday. The charming waitress offered us one free starter which was kind.
The building itself sits in beautiful grounds but needs some tlc.
The breakfast was excellent.
Parc La Breos House is a Victorian (mostly) pleasure. Our room (6) was a good size. The view was over the farm buildings which aren't the most picturesque, but it is nice to see a working farm. It did mean the farm vehicles started up about 7am, but that is to be expected! The grounds are beautiful and very well kept by the brothers who live there. The lounge has gorgeous paneling and a spectacular fireplace that was brought from Italy with Seville tile inset. It would be a wonderfully cozy place in winter. The winding drive takes some careful navigating as it is rather long and single track with only a few passing places.
The breakfasts were plentiful and a good choice, from full Welsh to Eggs Royale or waffles. The dinners were frankly better than we expected. We ate there two of the three nights we stayed and everything was very good. We especially liked the popcorn cockles! The prices were very reasonable. The wine list was short, but varied enough to find something to suit.
The only tiny flaw was a cheap toilet seat that was loose. The rest of the bathroom is very well fitted out, so that was a minor niggle. There is no air conditioning, but luckily we brought our own fan and were comfortable even though it was fairly warm.
The Gower Heritage Centre at the crossroads to the hotel is a very interesting place to visit with a working water mill. Shepard's Store is also worth a visit.
If we are in the area, we would definitely stay here again.
Comfortable stay with excellent breakfasts
Complimentary tea and welsh cakes on arrival was a nice touch. All staff were very helpful
Information on local walks was useful.
A fantastic stay at Parc le Breos. The staff were extremely accommodating to our needs which made the stay even better. We will definitely be back! Thank you for looking after us so well!
A homely and comfortable country house in which to enjoy a few days exploring The Gower. The staff are so very friendly and obliging. They could not do more to make you feel welcome and to assist in any way. Breakfasts and evening meals are excellent, and the lounge with wood fire is a joy. Parking is convenient. I highly recommend the afternoon teas too. Our thanks go to everyone.
Lovely little hotel with amazing service. Would highly recommend staying here for a nice wkd away. Only downfall was the thin walls you could hear your neighbours but we were so tired from our hikes it didnât matter. We would 100% go back here.
Lovely relaxing place to stay. Staff friendly and accommodating. Location great for nearby 3 cliffs beach. Approximately 20 minutes walk. Would definitely stay there again.
What a beautiful hotel and stunning grounds. Characterful and comfortable communal areas and delightful staff. Mattress/pillows were a little substandard by contemporary standards
We liked the whole atmosphere surrounding the house and gardens etc. the staff were super and very helpful. The breakfasts were great especially the Welsh breakfast! We will be coming again. The only downside was that we paid ÂŁ310 to Expedia as opposed to ÂŁ254 if we had booked directly with you!! A lesson to be learnt.
Very lovely main lounge area with woodburing stove - great breakfasts with especially great staff too for breakfast and dinner service and Bar on the evening the restaurant was closed. Would very much like to come and stay again - Other guests had walked down to the 3 cliffs bay and we did not have enough time for this - easy drive to university where we were seeing our daughter .
