We are both pensioners and were put on the top floor with no offer of help with our bags up steep stairs the room was a disgrace it was small like a cupboard the draws were all broken with one just threw behind the tv the bathroom was like a broom cupboard no coat where to hang towel also no coat hangers to hang our clothes. We asked to be moved to another room which they obliged however it was no better it was bigger but our clothes got covered in dust due to lack of cleaning and had to wedge the windows open with a bit of wood to keep them open
There is no breakfast no conversation with owner never asked are we enjoying our stay or information about local attractions just did not engage with us dont know how it can be classed as a hotel Basil Fawlty comes to mind.
Room had 2 mugs, both of which were dirty with a strange yellow crusting along the lip and needed a clean. Curtains could do with being blackout, let loads of streetlight in.
The mould on the shower ceiling aggravated my asthma and gave me a chest infection. I had to leave this place mid stay due to the health problems it was causing me. Awful bed, not clean, they wouldnât provide any kind of refund via Hotels.com. I will be reporting this place with the pictures I took to the authorities after the festive period.
Little more than a doss house to be honest.
Dirty, smelly rooms with mouldy en-suites. I cut my stay short after developing a chest infection from their mould infested shower ceiling in room 11.
They wonât be interested in this review so itâs probably not worth it in the end. But if it stops one person wasting their money in this place, itâll be worth the effort. The cleaners seemed nice, but not able to deal the frankly Sisyphean task of maintaining these rooms. The sinks are caked in scale, the toilets are in inaccessible positions for the most part for anyone taller than 5 foot and the rest of the room is just so dirty and shabby thatâs it seems pointless to even mention it (see pictures instead). The mattresses are without a trace of hyperbole the worst I've ever attempted to lay upon (as I canât actually say sleep on as there was precious little of that happening). I had to cut my stay short in the end after contracting a chest infection from the active black mould patch on the ceiling of the shower in room 11.
Still, itâs cheap. So if youâre prepared to take your very life and sanity in your hands to save a buck (like I thought I was prepared to do) give it a go.
Fantastic hotel/bar the room was clean and very spacious and the bathroom was very nice. Staff where extremely friendly and helpful and the bar was a nice environment with food and drink not to expensive, would definitely recommend and will be staying again
