Terrible from the start. Lack of response from host about an extra night. Good thing though because this place is not as pictured. Dead cockroach in fridge. Squishy floors, appliances filthy on outside too. Musty smell set off asthma attack. Toothpaste splatter on wall by sink. I am pretty sure the black specs in bottom of freezer is roach poop. Tried to call host when got there. It is a disconnected number. VRBO also could not get a hold of host. Donât want to get into long story about terrible VRBO experience. We could not stay there and ended up driving the 15 hours back home and missed a family wedding. Finally got my money back. I give host credit for that but, stated reason for cancellation was guests donât meet age requirements which, is a lie. Place needs work inside and outside and host could have been more responsive esp. to VRBO customer service.
All went well, need to take down the private boat launch. Nearest is Poor House Marina. It is not that far away, but there was no private launch as advertised. Poor house was great tho. We enjoyed our stay in the cabin after finding out the code to the door
No toilet paper to speak of same for paper towels there was nothing for our dog. Miss leading on BBQ grill was charcoal grill to far from house.bath room very small and toilet is not stable. Miss leading on dock you have to walk down a hill to get to dock.I would not recommend this place to anyone the wort I have ever booked!!!
This place is awesome, this is the 2nd time we have stayed here and we will be back again. The house is very nice and well kept. Kelly the property owner is very responsive and a great host, he made sure we had everything we needed and gave us suggestions to help make the week great. We also rented a pontoon boat from the owner and that went very smooth and made the trip perfect. 5 stars all around. Thanks for a great vacation!!
The listing says gas grill, but ended up being a small charcoal grill like in park. Television did not work for first 3 days. Kitchen is well stocked, but bring your own spices. The spices have been there for long time. You might be poisoned by them. The driveway almost requires a four wheel drive. I have stayed in several vbro's with this being the worst.
Quick last minute getaway for my son's birthday. Cute cabin at Logan Martin Lake/Coosa River. Weather cleared up so the kids (ages 20, 18, and 16 - almost 17) could swim on Saturday. Dogs were allowed, so Rosie could come, too. Had fun playing games, watching movies, and even trying to finish a puzzle. All the pontoon boats were already rented, but we had fun anyway!
We loved our stay. We needed a quick family and dog friendly for mornings and nights. This was perfect and cozy. We spent the days hiking the nearby Talladega National Forest and the evenings resting and watching the sunset in the AC with the stunning views! Cooked ourselves breakfast and dinner. Walking the dogs through the neighborhood with the kids, neighbors were nice.
Wish we could have stayed for fishing off the dock and spent time on the river. Next time!
We weren't able to stay the first night of our two night stay due to the place not being cleaned from the previous trip. The owner was excellent in response, however, and we were able to stay on our second night with a refund of the night we missed.
Note that it's several flights of stairs to the dock (we didn't attempt it due to the rain), and it only makes sense to pull into the driveway in reverse, and the door is extremely fickle to unlock/lock (give it a little pull).
Overall, the home makes for an excellent retreat with many offerings that are appealing. I only wish we had more time to truly enjoy them.
Host would not respond. We tried to call and email to find the location of the advertised boat launch. No response. We had to launch over by the civic center.
The house was absolutely filthy.
* Beds not made in back bedroom
* Front bedroom bed was made with dirty sheets.
* Dirty dishes in full in the dishwasher.
* The house looked completely lived in
* Bugs so bad in the bathroom we had to keep the door
closed
* Leak under the bathroom sink with mold
* Mousetrap in the kitchen cabinet
* Windowsills covered in filth
* Cobwebs
I could go on and on.
The listing could not be more inaccurate. There were no boat cleats, no loungers, no gas grill, no bar height table on the deck, no view of the water, no boat launch, mold, mold, mold.
The floors are caving in. Light fixture on the porch falling off. Weeds everywhere. The house is absolutely tiny and should be advertised as a tiny home.
We gave the owner an opportunity to respond to our request for a partial refund and still nothing.
This was a great place to be able to take my pup to stay! The sunsets were beautiful. I didnât love the number of steps to walk up and down to get to the lake and itâs steep and hard to walk up and down. Itâs a very small cottage and smaller than what it looks like in the pictures on the listing. The check in process was great.
Quaint lodging upon the lake...the bathroom little cramped because of the placement of the stackable W/D.
The view of the lake was awesome. It was too cold and rainy the weekend we were the enjoy the deck.
This is a great little house, great location, easy access. It is very stocked & definitely pup friendly - we really appreciated the dog bed! We were able to rent a pontoon boat, so we had an amazing day on the river/lake. - which has a GOAT ISLAND AND A PIRATE ISLAND - too fun! We went to Majestic Caverns ( formerly DeSoto Caverns) - just a short drive away and well worth the price of admission! Great little vacay was had by all - thank you so much!
Well thought out on staying there. Loved everything. The stairs to the water is not a easy thing to do. But the view from the deck was wonderful. Just what we wanted.
This cozy lake house is perfect for a small family. Beautiful view off the deck. Nice touches like games and fishing rods. Not luxurious but very comfortable and clean. Do be aware that although there is a charcoal grill, there is not a gas grill. Would gladly stay there again!
