Bathroom: Bath With Shower Attachment, Toilet. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Cot and highchair. Decking area with garden furniture and use of a barbecue lodge . Use of owner’s garden. One well behaved dog welcome, to be kept on a lead at all times. Private parking for 1 car. No smoking.. Peacefully set high up in rural Somerset close to Exmoor National Park and with far reaching views over open countryside, this holiday home attached to the owner’s farmhouse, provides a comfortable base for relaxation or touring. Excellent for walking and pony trekking as well as exploring Exmoor villages, Wimbleball Lake and west Somerset coast. Easily reached are Minehead, Dunster Castle (National Trust), Knightshayes Court (National Trust) and market town of Taunton. There is also a wooden barbecue lodge in the garden, which is available by arrangement. Nearest shops and post office are in the town of Wiveliscombe which is 4miles away . The nearest pub which also serves food and a Sunday carvery is 2 miles away. However there is quite of lot of choice for lovely eating establishments in the area including Wiveliscombe, Roadwater , Weddon Cross, Watchet to name a few .

A nice cosy place

We've just had a great few days at Hideaway. The location is great. Lovely and quite, but not that far away from the town or the beach. The cottage has everything you need in it, so you'll want for nothing. I wish we'd been able to stay longer and try out the BBQ hut, it looked great.

This cottage is a great place to sit back and relax. The views over the valley change hourly with the light. it is very quite and peaceful, and the BBQ hut is a great surprise which can be used in any weather

We had a great time at Hideaway.

We had a great time at Hideaway. It's just what you want for a holiday cottage a very comfortable cottage with beautiful views, it was lovely and quiet apart from the odd lamb bleating in the next field. The owners are next door very friendly and helpful nothing is too much trouble. They are keen gardeners and have worked really hard creating a lovely haven for the birds and wild life. We also made very good friends with the 2 resident cats who seemed to enjoy checking on us morning and evening. There are plenty of things to do and see but everything is a drive away as you are really in the middle of nowhere. For us that was a huge plus as we love being out in the countryside and away from it all!

Suited us down to the ground! The directions to the cottage need to specify distances between each instruction for clarity. We hope to visit again and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others who want to get away from it all.

A beautiful, peaceful location with amazing views and entertaining birds in the pretty garden. The cottage is comfortable, best suited to those happy to be fairly remote. The network of lanes is confusing at first and it is wise to follow Derek's directions rather than the SatNav on arriving ! Derek and Sheila are ideal hosts, helpful and unfussy. Wifi is unreliable but no problem with phones. Altogether to be recommended.
