Has mostly everything you need for a stay. Great location, close to the lake & the two mile bay sailing club. Being dog friendly was a huge bonus for us. All in all a pleasant stay
First, I want to start by saying the neighborhood and location were great. Upon arrival the place had minimal upkeep on the exterior. There were cobwebs all over the house and unkept weeds/landscaping.The check in process was easy enough with clear instructions. Inside the home had little to be desired. There were tiles from the ceiling hanging, the loveseat smelled of urine, the water pressure in the shower was terrible and there were bugs all over the bathroom floor. We also removed 2 giant spiders from the beds. Not sure if there was an animal in the attic, but there were large banging noises coming from the ceiling all night long. It sounded like an animal moving around. When we asked about the noise we were not met with a suitable response and the property management company blew us off. We ended up leaving a few days early because the conditions were terrible and we were not comfortable staying there. We contacted the host about an early departure with our complaints and they truly didn't seem to care. I never leave negative reviews, but this place as is should not be rented.
We stayed at the bach for the summer holidays in the TaupĆ. It was nice and close to town without being in the thick of it all. We enjoyed the easy access to the lakeside cycle routes. The kitchen was really well equiped, and we enjoyed being able to store our bikes in the garage.
This little Bach is charming and rustic. It was extremely clean and we had excellent communication with the property manager. For 5 adults, it was a tight squeeze and a bit uncomfortable. I think 3 adults, or 2 adults kids would enjoy this place. Also, it needs a few upgrades, including the deck chairs (a few should be replaced). But listening to the birds from the deck is so pleasant!
The bach has all you need. The beds are comfortable with good linen. Air con is great on hot days. Nice to relax on the deck although the seats are not in great shape and we couldnât get the umbrella up. Christmas decorations were a nice touch. The shower has very little water output.
Great dog friendly property in nice quiet location
Accurate listing. Clean, homely and good location between Woolworths and main Taupo township. Only downfall was the water pressure of the shower and I couldnât find instructions to use the tv. Tried a few dvd but one never played at all, one got stuck on language option. It wasnât a deal breaker, we could have contacted the property but decided to play a provided game instead.
Well located, well facilitated, extremely comfortable beds. The shower water pressure isn't great and this is why we gave the overall rating only 4 stars.
Property was well presented and comfortable. Could have done with some hand towels and an outside space to dry laundry. Bit chilly on rainy days but nothing a sweater wonât fix. Beds were super comfy.
We had a great weekend in Taupo for a football tournament. The bach is super cute, clean and tidy with everything we needed. Absolutely perfect for our dog as the property is well fenced and a nice distance from 2 mile bay sailing club (dog friendly) for morning walks and coffee pick ups!
A proper bach with good facilities close to lake and town. Used as a base for Ruapehu snow trip with grandson on Saturday and local sightseeing on Sunday.
Would definitely stay again.
House was easy to find, a short walk to the lake front. House was very clean and tidy on arrival. Had everything we needed for a weekend away with the kids and dogs. Only downfall was itâs a little bit tired and our vehicle didnât fit the garage (CX9), so we parked in the driveway, really no big deal. Would happily stay there again.
The bach is older style and a 2-3 min walk from lakefront. If you want shiny kitchens/bathrooms and everything new - maybe this is not for you. If you want charm, a warm welcome (they left Easter eggs for us!), to be away from the main SH1 noise, and a low-key easy place to stay, this is. Bach 70 was one of the few places in Taupo that would allow us to bring our dog and allow him to sleep inside. Communication from Kerry was excellent throughout. While the bach does not have lake views -the lake is only a short stroll away. There is a lovely, private sunny deck at the back overlooking a forested gully. Part of the property is fenced, so pets can be let out safely. Everything worked, including a heat pump for chilly mornings. Sure, there are some chips and cracks - but nothing that mattered. There's a very generous collection of kitchenware and retro board games - and we noticed a baby chair and baby bath for folks with little ones. A great place to stay: like being at a friend's.
Fantastic kitchen and bedrooms. Lounge airy but the couches are to low to get up from without effort. When you sit on them your knees are above your hips. Yes this is partly related to my age ! Great to have a spacious garage to lock up bikes etc. Lovely deck area and a mini wilderness at the rear.
Bach 70 was a lovely little house that embraces simple living. Comfortable and homely, in a great location with a playground just around the corner and the lake front a short walk down the road. Excellent communication from Kerry. We'll definitely be back. Thank you!
