I think my wife and I were the third people to stay at this place. It was perfect. The owners obviously live here at least part of the year, and itâs clear they love it. The bungalow is lovely. The entire place opens up with classic English countryside views, sounds, and smells. They have around 10 bird feeders all over the place, along with binoculars, bird guide books, OS maps, general guide books. Going by the booksâthe place is a literal libraryâIâm assuming the owners own and travel in a sprinter-type van when they arenât here. The instruction book they have is very clearly laid out and helped out in all of those, âhow do we turn on the fan?â kinda situations. They even had spare batteries for the remote. The whole place is very energy conscious. On a sunny day, we used the washing machine and watched the energy meter indicate that the sun was basically powering it. They have an old record player with a musicianâs LP collection. There is a smart TV with surround sound, etc. But, the TV is an acceptable size, as in⊠it doesnât dominate the room. The bed is comfortable, and the bathroom/shower, etc. is all top class. The Mary Tavy inn is within walking distance and very worth a visit for a pint or two. If you enjoy being in the country and hiking on the moors, quaint English villages, pasties, dartmoor ponies, sheep, cows, and being surrounded by wildlife, this place is it.
