The staff was amazing! The girl at the desk was so friendly and helpful!
The room itself looks like itâs been somewhat recently remodeled. Super cute. I had no stopper for my tub and there was a moth in the room when I got there. Interior shower curtain could have been replaced and the sink drain did not drain well at all. Water heater was not consistent and outside of property at the lodge across the street looked a little run down. The bed was very firm-more than Iâm used to. Overall cleanliness was not bad but itâs not a five star experience.
The location of this motel was perfect for going to Big Bend National Park (on the west side, Maverick Junction entrance). It was clean and comfortable and tastefully decorated. The staff was friendly gave us a very helpful map of Terlingua. We highly recommend going into Terlingua Ghost Town. We liked the art gallery and trading post. Venga restaurant was excellent for coffee and breakfast (and has a lot of interesting art), and we recommend the Starlight Theatre Restaurant for dinner.
BED BUGS!! I stayed here in late September for what was suppose to be 2 nights. I went to bed after a long car ride, woke up, and had bites in a line all over my leg. I took off the sheets and saw a ton of old bed bug marks and new ones. I informed the front desk and they said they would get me a refund (especially because I had to find another hotel for the next night). I never got a refund after calling them multiple times, and was charged $300 for the whole thing. I booked through expedia and even expedia tried to call them for a refund and they refused. I don't recommend it
Room was clean, very small, no closet or dresser. It had air conditioning, no service to room during stay, not even to take out trash.
TV offered no local stations, but a variety of channels that had old shows. Mix up from Hotels. INC Stating you could check out at 7am, they offered check out at 8am. They should have told us to use the drop box. It stated for late arrivals. Very frustrating.
We stayed there for 3 nights. At no time was our room serviced by housekeeping. When I asked after the second night about the lack of service, I was told they did not servic the rooms every day. A second issue was the in-house WiFi did not reach our room (#12). Final issue, the satellite tv only worked for 15 minutes during our stay.
It appears that the facility is operated by Aramark. They could definitely do a better job.
Loved this property in Terlingua. Friendly accommodating staff , Clean rooms, great air conditioning . Convenience store next door, restaurants close by.
