I came for a friends trip with a few other women. The house had more than enough room for all of us and we had a great time. The home was beautiful, but there were a few things that were not as expected. Listing so others are aware before booking, as we were surprised.
There wasn't really a view of the river in the summer, and to access the river you had to go down a VERY steep hill with something you can barely call a trail (it was all eroding). We are all fit so were able to do it, but would make the river inaccessible for older people or those with any mobility issues.
There is an inn right next door, so not much privacy as you can see and hear them. The fire pit is on the property line and within full view.
We had to turn on every lamp in the house (felt like 20) and it was still VERY dark in every room except the kitchen.
The house stayed pretty cool despite no air conditioning. But in one upstairs bedroom there is no window, only a door, and the door was screwed shut so there was zero airflow. Also very dangerous in a fire. The bunk room has no windows at all and has only a curtain as a door.
The home is filled with knickknacks. It meant there was no space to put any groceries. Some were also placed in dangerous locations, like on the stairs. There was also an unsecured rug at the top of the stairs that someone slipped on and fell down.
There is no table on the large patio and no screen door in the sliding door. Not good for summer, only winter really.
