Always a good stay at the Gate Hotel. Rooms are more spacious than typical hotel rooms in Tokyo. Located next to Sumida River and close to Ryogoku station. 20 minutes walk to Asakusa. Beds are comfortable and amenities are provided. Cleaning staff are polite. Only improvement is the ability to check in early, especially after a long flight!

Comfortable stay and good service.

Beautiful hotel by the river with wonderful products in the room and a very comfy bed. The breakfast was outstanding. I was ill on my last night here with a sudden intense headache. My partner informed the reception and they gave him some medicine for me. In the morning, when he went for breakfast, they gave him two takeaway bags of breakfast food for him to take up to the room for me, and also checked on my health when we were leaving. The hotel roof terrace was beautiful with excellent views of the skytree. Thank you 😊

This was our first hotel in Japan and we loved it, room was a decent size, right by the river and easy to access other parts of Tokyo. Hotel was clean and very friendly. It’s a great hotel to base yourself. We would have stayed again when we came back to Tokyo for our flight home but was booked up.

Amazing hotel close to everything and only 15 min by train to Tokyo Station. We had the view of the Sumido river and Ryoguku stadium, where the Sumo Grand tournament is held when in Tokyo, a walking distance from multiple restaurants, parks, museums, shops, temples, etc, etc. I will return here if I come back to Tokyo.

Boutique Hotel in the Sumo district

This was a wonderful property to stay at when we first arrived in Tokyo. It's in the sumo district (Ryoguku), the hotel is nestled by the river. There is an elevated highway but you would never no it as the soundproofing is excellent. The metro is near by and there are plenty of food options in the area.
