The rooms in the residences were excellent. Spacious with great views and lots of nice touches with toiletries and what not. The staff at the restaurant was great. Virtually everyone was welcoming and helpful around the property. Generally though, I donât think it reaches a true 5-star luxury property level. There are too many misses â it takes too long to check in, there are areas with weird smells or things that donât work and donât make sense. The turndown service is underwhelming. It is a very nice property and the residences offer more room and comfort but it not 5 star luxury.
It is also remarkable how one thing can cloud a stay. The ârulesâ around the whirlpool and whether people under 18 can use it are unclear and inconsistently and unfairly enforced. While there is no specific guidance regarding the whirlpool (which is attached to the adult pool) that I can find, every so often, they will ban or kick out people under 18 from the whirlpool (and adult pool). Other times they will be serving cups of water to a baby and a 10 year old in the whirlpool. It is all extremely silly and frustrating as a parent. In general, banning people under 18 from the whirlpool is bizarre, especially at a resort where most people are traveling as a family, but, if you are going to do it, be consistent. Literally, after 5 days of using the whirlpool, our kids were told they couldnât use it and then less than an hour later they were serving drinks to kids in the whirlpool.
