Beautiful home and property! It was a very easy check in process. We loved the open space, wonderful backyard, great sitting areas, nice woods, and we truly enjoyed our stay. The house is very clean and the hosts really thought of everything. Thank you!
Overall this was a nice stay. The house was clean and organized. The basement was wonderful, and the outside areas were well maintained and fun to hang out in. There were plenty of towels and hot water, and clothes soap was provided. The kitchen was stocked with basics and the beds were acceptable. There were only enough plates/silverware for one meal so dishes had to be run multiple times a day. Our main complaint was the water front. We reached out beforehand asking about the canoes and lakefront to ensure that we could use the area because that was a key factor of our choice of this property. When we arrived the canoes were left open side up for quite a while and were full of mildew and debris. To our utter disappointment, the lake was not accessible. The "dock" was a few board that were unstable and directly on the ground. There was another dock, but it was completely surrounded by cat tails. Neither were useable. Also the end of the lake accessed by this property is thick with lily pads so we could not row our stand up paddle boards across them. We used a very nice public beach/launch 10 minutes up the road, but this involved multiple trips back and forth with our personal equipment and children. So, while this did not ruin our trip it was a major disappointment. Management were very responsive to questions.
What a magical wooded wonderland! Daytime gives you a visual taste and at night the experience lights up beautifully. Your log cabin was a fun place to stay while we enjoyed final performances and presentations of our campers and checked them out from Interlochen. We were visited by deer and fireflies, the latter of which we do not see at home. Sitting in a red rocking chair on the front porch was a favorite pastime of my husband, my mother, and me in the morning with coffee or in the evening with an adult beverage; while our teens hung out in the screened back porch; and our preteens played ping pong and foosball in the basement. (The only suggestion I can think of is perhaps think about providing beach towels and maybe even beach chairs for a visit to Clinch Park, particularly for those of us who fly in and wouldnât pack those things.) Thank you for a lovely place to stay.
In my opinion, exactly what a vacation rental should look and feel like. Early morning coffee on the porch and a bonfire in the evening. Loved exploring the many beaches and coming back to such a serene home base. We hiked the trails on the property, watched the turkey and deer and thankful for the a/c on the couple of 90 degree days that we had. Great place and made some great family memories.
Cabin was great, tucked in the woods with the lake across the street. The lake was not great for fishing but fun to go out in the canoes. Great firepit out back, cool basement with ping pong and foosball. Only thing missing were a few kitchen utensils. Would stay here again.
