Great location and views, nothing better than sitting outside and enjoying the breeze. The pool is a great place to cool off day or night. Power did go out quite a bit and generator kicked in, thankfully. Communication with host was challenging.
The owner was responsive but texted the on island person about generator and never heard back. Our area lost power numerous times and had no power for hours. Great location kids had fun. Bring beach towels with you and the outdoor grill is rough. Overall great place relaxing and fun!
Had a lovely stay in early spring. Views are wonderful and property has everything you need. Owners are easy to work with and help as much as you need. Thank you for allowing us to stay and we look forward to coming back soon!
The stay was great at Sugar Shack and would stay there again. The dock access was easy for our 34ft center console and could have bigger as well. There was no internet but I guess it just happened the week before. Owner said he was installing starlink. The only other thing is it lacks some basic kitchen cooking pots/pans. Still a great stay and everything worked as it should including the ice machine.
House was really good for our family of four. More than enough room and great views.
Treasure Cay is still being redeveloped so the restaurants are limited but the beaches are nice.
We rented a boat for the week and having it in the backyard was excellent!!
The property is wonderful. It was a tad bit too cold for the pool, but we had a boat rented and island hopped everyday! Treasure Cay is so beautiful and the people are very hospitable. Merril and his wife are fabulous hosts with incredible recommendations and resources available for all of your needs! We canât wait to plan our next Abacos adventure!!
We absolutely loved our stay at the Sugar Shack! The views from the back deck/pool are spectacular. The house is well equipped with things for cooking, relaxing in the pool and beds are super comfy. There are plenty of kayaks and getting in and out of the water is very easy. There were six of us staying at the house and we had plenty of room to be together or get some quiet time alone. We'll definitely book again :)
Loved having coffee outside in the morning! The beach across the way is fun to swim or kayak to. So pretty! The dock fit our 39 foot center console. Power and water on the dock. The pool cleared up over time. House was clean. Beds comfortable. Ac worked well. Dishwasher broken. Loved seeing turtles đą from the dock!
The Sugar Shack is in one of the most beautiful spots on TC. Perfectly located with a spectacular view of the water and the beach. It was peaceful and we felt very safe. The owner Merrill was easy to contact and a pleasure to deal with. About the house: The beds, living room and dining room furniture are brand new, very comfortable and clean. The house and property had more than enough space for our group of 4. The kitchen is fairly well stocked with spices, dishes, cookware, utensils and some condiments in the fridge. Outside: The patio is newly tiled and beautiful with plenty of comfortable seating. The Tiki hut was a great place to sit and relax. The pool was nice, but unfortunately, too cold for all but one of us. (65 degrees) Loved the kayak but there was only one paddle for four kayaks.(we did find another paddle in a bedroom closet the day we left). Door to the blue bathroom drags on the floor if you donât lift it. There are some water floats and plenty of beach towels. A lot of time was spent on the amazing beaches and the dock. We saw a dolphin, a turtle, lots of small fish, crabs and 4 spotted eagle rays right in front of the dock. A few small issues that we had were that the ice maker was broken, the dishwasher did not work(saw one in the pictures and assumed), the blenders didnât work, we asked the housekeeper to come back to take care of some cleaning that was overlooked(Shantell is great). The power goes out almost every day but only for a very short period. None of the issues we had negatively affected our stay here. One must take into consideration that Abaco is still recovering from hurricane Dorian. There are only 2 places to eat at on TC. Florence's cinnamon rolls are a must! If you can, rent a boat and captain to take you to the outlying Cayâs. Itâs worth it.
A car or golf cart at the least needs to be included as a must for this property.
I don't think we were prepared for the devastation that is still everywhere from Dorian. The house was well appointed, but renting a car or at the very least a golf cart really needs to be included in the listing. The nearest convince store or place to eat is at least a mile away if not more. The electricity went out the first night, but was not out for long. It is obvious the owner is really trying to refurbish the house in the wake of Dorian, and the ice machine and dryer were great. When we go back, I don't think we'll stay on Treasure.
This is a lovely place in treasure cay with access to the water and the local beaches - we saw dolphins, turtles and sting rays - it was great for a family vacation - would definitely rent again!
Our family of 6 spent a glorious week in Treasure Cay! The view from Sugar Shack is spectacular!! The house itself is well appointed and very comfortable! The only issue we had was the lack of wifi. However, we did not come there to work :). The ice maker is a game changer and was well used!!! Thanks to Merril and Diana for an amazing stay!
This house is perfect for a family affair! Beautiful pool and views, kayaks to explore and a stocked kitchen to cook your catch! The Sugar Shack is the place to be, comfortable and perfect, I cant wait to go back!
We enjoyed our stay. The house is a great location for people boating as primary objective. Protected cove but right near exit to sea of Abaco. Back yard, pool and grill were great. Needs a little TLC for insects but wasnât a huge issue. Treasure has limited options for eating out and night life (not residents fault). We really enjoyed the stay.
