This property has just what we were looking for in a late fall vacation: leaves were still changing; the air cool and clear, the view beautiful in the sunshine and fall yellow foliage, watching the occasional barge & lock traffic, the trains on both sides of the river (I love trains, and no not too noisy being below the bluff). The kitchen was very well stocked, the house clean, and we played some of the games and grilled. The supper club and park are 2 and 5 min away, and we went to the winery, LaCrosse, Our Lady of Guadalupe, etc. The wifi was slow using a few devices, and my cell signal was weaker also and slow. Plenty of bathrooms. Went hike in the park nearly every day. We had to book a place with only a few hrs lead time and this was a lucky find.

I waited to give my review because I wanted to give the host adequate time to respond to our concerns, but they never did. The listing stated WiFi speed 250mbps but we never got anything near that. We stayed 2 nights with 4 kids all with phones. First night we could not get TVs to work because of the Internet connection. Next day we were told that they contacted their Internet company and we had 12 devices connected. We had 6 phones and 2 Apple Watches and the other 4 must have been their TVs. We disconnected our phones and watches and still only could get 12mbps. We tried to watch a movie on one TV as a family and three quarters into the movie, it disconnected. To make matters worse, my 12 year old daughter cut her finger moving spots on the loveseat to the point of dripping blood. We turned on the lights and inspected and found chards of glass stuck in the fabric of the couch. We took pictures after we wiped off her finger and of a few of the amber colored glass chards that appeared possibly a beer bottle. If you are just staying for the view over the river- that was beautiful. But you will need to be prepared for the train to be going back and forth and whistling throughout the day and night. I am not one to complain and I do wish the host would have at least responded with an apology on the WiFi issues and the condition of the furniture and injury it caused, but they didn’t.

Beautiful view! I didn’t mind the train noise throughout the night and day, but it did affect the sleep of some.

We spent 75% of our time outside on decks...awesome river views, full moon from fire table deck and even thru windows in house. Bridgett and Drew were available for our few questions after we arrived. Kitchen had everything we needed including a griddle for our french toast. House was clean, linens good quality. Would definitely return.

We love this clean home with a fantastic view of the Mighty Mississippi! The hosts keep this home spotless, it is very well stocked and the huge deck is a delight to relax on and watch the fantastic sunsets. The only drawback could be the stairs for anyone with mobility issues. This was our second visit and we look forward to returning.

The home is beautiful and very functional. A lot of extra perks that did not go unnoticed - thank you. Plenty of room for 8 adults ages I8-83. We enjoyed the decks and the fire table. It was fun to sit on the front deck and watch the storms roll through. There are many trains that pass by, but we did not find this to be a problem. In fact, the men in the group enjoyed watching them as well as the barges that passed by on the river. Beds were comfortable and plenty of linens - much appreciated. Kitchen had every possible utensil you would want. Our family enjoyed our time there. I would recommend this home for your next stay.

We enjoyed our time on the front deck, watching the eagles and the trains. The barges being pushed by a huge tug was fascinating. The home was perfect for our group of five very-long-time friends - we especially loved the front deck so we could watch the eagles and the barges. The kitchen was totally stocked for our meager food preparations.

Terrific house overlooking the Mississippi, but no direct access to the river, which was fine. Able to view barges, a Viking cruise ship, and assorted other boats travel up and down the waterway. There is a lock & dam a few blocks from the house that's worth visiting. The house is well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, bowls, silverware, cooking & grilling utensils. Additionally there were spices, coffee, tea, cooking oils & sprays, a jar of M&Ms, probably other things I'm forgetting. The beds were spacious & comfy; the bathrooms were good sized. One bedroom has two bathrooms. The side deck with grille & outdoor seating was large; the front deck with the riverview was narrow, but long. There were several indoor & outdoor games available, one being bean bags & boards. Shopping in the area was quite limited, but Holman (Holmen?) isn't far away and has more shopping/grocery store. All-in-all, it was a real nice place to stay. The only semi-negative is that the property is on a hill/bluff and, as a result, much of the yard is sloped & unusable. Beyond that, our stay was very pleasant and Bridgett was cordial, responsive, and helpful. Would highly recommend BRD Nest.

The location of the BRD Nest is unparalleled. The eagles greeted us every morning as we had coffee on the deck. The walk to either Perrot State Park or the city of Trempealeau is an easy trek. The home was extremely clean and the beds super comfortable. I would highly recommend booking this property for your vacation.

Great communication and attention to details! Quiet neighborhood and beautiful view of the river. Great place to relax and watch the boats and trains go by. Close to the state park where there are lots of hiking trails to explore! Wonderful place for our family!

Very nice stay, accommodations were clean. Host was prompt, attentive and the setting was more than we expected. Location is great, got to see barges pass each other along the lazy river, many golf opportunities, and supper clubs abound. Scenic and quietOur group likes to visit different VRBO's but the group wants to come back to this location! That's a first. 5 stars

Fantastic house on the Mississippi

With the good fortune of having the finest spring weather imaginable, we had a marvelous stay at BRD's Nest. It's simply one of the best VRBO's our group has stayed in. Excellent communication from the owner.

The BRD Nest was a great place for our big family group to stay. Plenty of bedrooms and baths for privacy and nice open common areas for gathering. Can’t beat the view of the river from the windows and deck!

Beautiful, clean, spacious home

The house is perfect for a getaway with friends or family. It is very spacious with a large area for gathering to play games or just visit. The beds are very comfortable with nice linens. We were in town for a Bonspiel at the Centerville Curling Club. Wish we had more time to spend at the house. Make sure to check out The Station - Ma’s Kitchen in town for breakfast and coffee! SO GOOD!

Family - Wedding Event

View and spacious rooms and bedrooms! Every couple loved having a bathroom, with family it was fine using the 5th bathroom in another’s bedroom which had the 5th bathroom. Loved the balcony around most of the house. Sister in law locked us out of the house but management was able to solve the issue immediately, what a lifesaver to get a tired family after a wedding into the house. Wish we had more time there to be with bothers and sisters.
