Enjoyed this location as aspected; it worked out well for my son and I. The pool was nice, very slippery though so be careful; that did not stop us from using it a few times. We saw a little, very young black bear right there on little catawba creek rd, so be on the look out! I will say the walls are thin, but once we went to bed I didn't have any issues. We would like to come back to the area soon. Our GPS said the surrounding areas mph is 55, which is crazy for all the wild life, definitely not suggested. Take the time and enjoy this beautiful location!
I recommend this lovely place to everyone. The host were . I will definitely be rebooking in the near future. I would personally like to thank Laura such wonderful people that went above and beyond for me and my two young sons. and her husband such wmore than accommodating
We were very comfortable and especially enjoyed the hot tub after hiking. We also really appreciated the basket of nuts, bars and coffee pods. There were plenty of towels for showering and utilizing the hot tub. Over all we were very happy with our stay and would recommend it to others.A
Went for a weekend hiking trip and it was a beautiful space to stay in. Everything was clean and amazingly decorated. We loved the hot tub and the location.
Overall the stay was great! Communication was fantastic, the place was nice and cozy. The walls are a little thin but it wasnt too much of an issue overall.
Loved the setting! Nice set up for outdoor spa/pool/grilling. I now realize what a studio is lol. Was surprised when I walked in and realized it was just one open room aside from the bathroom but it was cozy. Really the only downside was the smell. Resembled the smell of an old nursing home. Other than that, it was a really great experience.
Roughly 2 hour drive to the mountains. Inexpensive getaway to the mountains and to see Roanoke Va for a long weekend. Trails near by. Restaurants and downtown are not to far away.
We were in town for a VT football game and wanted to stay with in an hour of the VT campus. This accommodation worked out very well for us. Nicely decorated and plenty of nice towels. Host is very thoughtful!
My husband and I went to a Thursday night Virginia Tech football game and traveled to this cute little spot late at night. The directions were easy to follow and getting in was a breeze. This host has thought of everything. Very clean and decorated nicely. There were snacks laid out for us. Lots of towels for our convenience and an explanation of the hot tub and WiFi access. We got to chat with the owner a bit and really enjoyed getting to know him. On Saturday morning I opened the door and came eye to eye with a deer. It was a fantastic stay with lots of rest and no expectations. Would definitely stay again.
This was just what we needed-a clean, cozy place for a night. The owner has thought of everything and has decorated it so perfectly. We appreciated the snacks and coffee. Thank you!
If you love scenery, wildlife & being away from suburbia this is your choice. With a pool, hot tub and a cozy, comfy, spotlessly clean studio with microwave, dorm fridge and Keurig plus snacks there wasnât anything lacking. Lots of homey touches and practice things.Laura was the perfect host.
Each day of our stay, we drove to one of the Triple Crown hikes (Dragon's Tooth, Tinker Cliffs, McAfee Knob) and then had "recovery time and muscle relaxation" in the fabulous hot tub! Drive time was less than 15 min for each trailhead. It was so quick and easy to walk 20 steps to the jacuzzi! My only (small) recommendation is to use hypoallergenic cleaning supplies. The odor was very noticeable upon arrival - diminishing somewhat by day 3. We had lovely nighttime temperatures, so we slept with two fans running and the door open (very nice screen door, by the way!)
This was a beautiful place. The bedroom/living space and bathroom were all immaculate. The provided coffee and snacks, plus bottled waters, were a thoughtful touch. The tv was easy to use and we slept well. We enjoyed the pool and the hot tub - had a great time overall.
