We were thrilled to arrive and find a spotless, very well stocked cottage walking distance to the cute downtown Troy center with restaurants, cafes and historic houses. We stayed 5-nights and had everything we needed to cook meals for the family, I even baked a cake. There were extra toiletries in case we forgot anything, to a of towels and extra linens. We even brought the dog, and there is a huge, green grassy outdoor space for him to stretch his legs (no fence). Comfy sofa and beds. Really no complaints at all! 5 stars because they went the extra mile with how clean and well stocked it was.
This house is super cute and stocked with everything you could possibly need! Brenda was a great host and responded to messages with right away. It was a great stay!
Cute house walking distance from parks and historic main street. Walk to bars, coffee shops, and restaurants. Host was so communicative, making sure we were good and asking if we needed anything. House was also super clean! A great choice when visiting Troy!
Excellent property.Very clean and comfortable. Stayed for a wedding in town and the house exceeded our expectations. The property owner was very communicative but wasn't in the least bit intrusive. Would highly recommended!!
Our family of 4 had a nice stay in Troy. The house is simple but nice and served us well for our short trip to visit family nearby. The location was easy to downtown Troy. The property was as described, there are 2 bedrooms with queen beds. The spots for additional people (and that we used for our 4th) is a blow up bed that takes up the entire living room. Again, fine for us but a true party of 6 would need to be very comfortable sharing beds. Another warm comforter would have been nice for the blow up bed. The house was fairly noisy, both from the road outside and some parts inside. The back bed was very sqeaky and its fan rattled, so be aware if you are a light sleeper. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and would return!
This historical house may be small, but it's got PLENTY of character! The beds are comfortable, the kitchen functional, everything was spotless, and fully stocked with towels. There were also a selection of shampoo/conditioner/soaps, and a good selection of kitchen items.
The location is great. It's a nice walk, or a *very* short drive into downtown.
Location allowed us to walk downtown to Hechler Hardware, coffee shops, and short drive to Cuivre River State Park which has a remnant prairie trail, camping, and multiple trails ranging in length and difficulty.
Brenda was very responsive when getting back to me about questions. Check-in and check-out so easy. She has provided ample bath towels and wash cloths and even thought of extension cords which we needed for my husband's C-pap machine.
Troy has a relaxed pace and very friendly, considerate residents for us "oldsters." My husband and I are 67 and 64, respectively, and I have some balance issues which result in my using trekking poles. People were very kind and routinely gave us the right-of-way whenever we were in a crosswalk.
Don't miss Taormina's Sicilian Family Restaurant and HoneyBadger Grill--great food at reasonable prices.
Brenda also stocks cookware and kitchenware which we used for breakfast and lunches. All new appliances in the kitchen made food prep and cleanup smooth and simple.
Front bedroom did not have overhead fan; I brought a portable fan which also blocked out road noise.
Entire house was immaculately clean as were the bed linens.
We were in town for a family visit and this was just the place! We stayed 5 nights and we were. Very comfortable. It was a clean and had every we needed.
Very clean, everything provided that we needed, beds were comfortable. Was a great place for us to stay with son, daughter-in-law and granddaughters while we were in town for a family reunion!
Brenda has an adorable cottage in a great location. She was the perfect host. I would have given the home 5 stars but the kitchen is small/ narrow (but well stocked). Otherwise, a well appointed little surprise in a great location.
