Great location! Right next to the gondolas! It was everything we needed for the price it was. We loved staying in the village. The ladder to the loft is good for older children only. We will definitely be staying here again next summer!
It was ski-in/ski-out. But that's the only thing it had going for it.
- The whole place stank when we arrived. Took a bit of work to make it smell fine.
- The pantry was practically empty. Not so much as essentials, had to immediately go to the store to get everything. There was a bottle of oil that was fresh perhaps 10 years ago.
- We've stayed at places with lofts and ladders, but this ladder situation felt especially rickety and unsafe.
- No place to store our skis. There were ski lockers, but they were locked and we were not allowed to use them. We were just 4, but the place allegedly sleeps 6. I can't imagine how that corridor would look with 6 pairs of ski equipment in it.
- Communication was less than stellar. Like checkin details sent 2pm on the day of checkin. Good luck if you're having cell issues that day.
Definitely not renting again.
First time staying at this unit and we loved every minute! Great location, 2 minute walk to the ice rink/village and we could ski back. We will stay again thank you!
Location, location, location! Right on the slopes, yards away from the gondola. Basic ski condo. Be sure you are aware that the loft is accessed by a straight up ladder. One of my kids opted to sleep on the couch downstairs rather than climb the ladder.
The location is the best part about this condo. Itâs the closest building on Ski View to the Big Springs gondola and right next to village run so a true ski in and ski out. Thereâs an easy path to walk down to the restaurants in the village.
About the condo amenities: itâs an older, not renovated unit, so itâs what youâd expect - functional. All the appliances work. The dishwasher is loud. The shower water pressure is good.
The kitchen pots and pans are pretty good (except the nonstick pan needs to be replaced IMO), but bring your own oil, salt, pepper etc if you plan to cook.
The upstairs loft is quite spacious. It is a very tall ladder to get up there, so kids younger than 5 would need to be supervised climbing up and down.
There were 3 sleds and 2 inner tubes - awesome for the kids to enjoy on the small slope right outside the condo.
Things that wouldâve made this rental even better:
Because the washer/dryer is not inside the unit, it would be nice to have a laundry basket to use to take your clothes to the laundry room.
Dressers in both rooms would be nice so we donât have to live out of our bags if weâre there for more than a few days.
This is a great place to stay. A true ski in/ski out. This is our second time staying at the place. Fyi, there is a ladder that is going up to the loft and not stairs. If you are uncomfortable going up ladders, I would't recommend this place. The bedroom is on the floor though. Overall, this is a great place to stay at
Great location, ski-in/ski-out and easy walking distance to the heart of the village. The second bedroom is a loft without complete walls, and with a very tall ladder to access, which was too much for our young kids
We loved the location, walked to the pool, skating meals and hiking. Kids loved the bunk beds in the loft and beds were comfy. Patio was great to enjoy breakfast.
Condo and location was fantastic value for money. Loved it!
Very hard to get hold of Vrbo staff on the phone, and delay in email response.
Fine if not needing them in 24 hours.
This property is super convenient location right on the mountain. We enjoyed the location the most.
The major issues for us were on the listing here the property said we could have 2 vehicles, and one pass was provided. We had two cars for our party staying there. I reached out to the phone numbers and emails listed, but I was told multiple times the local property manager would be in touch, but never has any response from them whatsoever. I did follow up with more than one phone call attempt, but never got a response from the local management team.
In addition to the no communication, the condo is in much need of a deep clean. There was thick layers of dust everywhere. With a fireplace that we couldn't get to work with what was provided and would have asked the property manages about, but couldn't due to lack of communication.
We will probably stay at someone else's unit in this area that is not with Grand Welcome property management group in the future.
Great Location but make sure you understand extra charges
This was a wonderful place to stay. It's a bit rustic and some of you will need to climb a ladder to get in & out of bed. But well worth it as you are 85 steps from the door to the ski run to the gondola. However, check out the extra cost as they doubled our rate for a 4 night stay. Hard to understand the cost to clean a ~800sqft condo.
Great value at the ideal Northstar Village location.
Beautiful property at the best location by the Village at Northstar. You get all you could possibly need at a great value. The property is comfy, clean, quiet, and just a few steps from the Village. It has membership to the Northstar Property Owner's Association club with fantastic swimming pools, gym, kid's activities, etc. (a small, guest fee $ per person is customary). Management/owner communication was impeccable! We had a wonderful time during our stay and will definitely look to book this property again.
Nothing fancy about the space but it was plenty for my daughter and I to enjoy a few days at Northstar. The only major drawback was the very loud heater that gets annoying at night.
Always the best location to stay in these ski in ski out condos at Northstar! I have stayed in this unit before and this year we decided to walk To the fitness center in the evenings for the hot tub access to
