Loved our stay at the Smithy. The photos donât do it justice. Great location close to the beach and with the shops in walking distance. We loved sitting out on the deck enjoying ocean views and majestic sunsets.
This property is in an excellent location and equipped with everything you need. The ocean is just 2 mins walk at the end of the street. You can walk to the local shops in less than 10 mins.
We booked this house so we could easily walk to the Dawn Service on Anzac Day with my in laws who are older and it was perfectly located for the memorial and the club afterwards.
Inside the house, the fenced garden and dog friendly layout (easy to close off back part of house completely to keep dog in main lounge/kitchen area) was great.
House is clearly regularly used by owners and had some âstuffâ in kitchen and bathroom cupboards etc. This could annoy some people but it was fine for us.
Biggest issue we had was lack of wifi. Unbelievably, there wasnât any. Itâs my fault for not checking the listing properly as it doesnât state there is any wifi. I just assumed it would be there. We run our own business and sadly, totally switching off is never an option! We managed to hotspot from our phones but it was a pain and we burned a lot of data. Just be aware of this.
Would rent again.
The house was clean and almost fully renovated. It could be improved with wifi provision and towels (which there was some confusion on the internet listing about). Overall though, it was a great place to stay.
We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the property, with plenty of living space inside and good outdoor amenities too. The house is in close proximity of the beach and elevated to enjoy some limited views of the coast, including Montague Island. Given the house does not feature air conditioning, we would recommend ensuring more fans are available, as there is only one mounted in the dining room ceiling, otherwise a small portable one, which made for some slightly uncomfortable evenings, although we were fortunate to experience mild weather. The pantry appeared well stocked, however on closer inspection we found many items had expired many years ago, so close attention to this is recommended. For anyone who still watches terrestrial TV (as opposed to streaming), the television reception is very poor, likely because the antenna cabling has been split to too many TVs (there are four in the house). Despite these minor quibbles, we would certainly recommend this house and Tuross Head more generally, as we had a wonderful time staying there.
Obviously a much loved holiday home. The current renovations are good but the master ensuite definitely needs an upgrade. Good supplies in the kitchen and laundry was a bonus. The outside entrance could be less cluttered to make it nicer to relax there at the table. The kitchen stools were unusable due to wrong sizing. 2 of the tvs we were unable to get to channels available. The lounge one was good though and a good sitting relaxing area.
Great to have an accessible driveway as we had a trailer with kayak
We had never been to Tuross Head before and loved the quiet fishing village.
