This otherwise charming space earns several demerits that made the guest experience less agreeable than it could of been. Foremost among them was a raised wooden strip -- separating the bedroom from the hall -- that was both loose and of the same color as the floor. We only became aware of it after one of us tripped over it in the night and nearly fell. This hazard should not only have been repaired, but clearly marked. Secondly, the bathroom sink was stopped, causing water needed for washing and brushing teeth to drain very slowly. Finally, this unit did not have functional heating, and space heaters were not made available on request. Ambient nighttime temperatures on Long Island can drop below comfortable levels in October, making provisions for adding warmth an essential, if needed.
Taken together, these shortcomings marred what could have been a more pleasant stay. I am surprised and disappointed that Vrbo does not hold owners to higher standards prior to qualifying their properties for rent.
