We had a great time on our spring break trip for our family of 5. We liked the location and the coziness of the home. It didn't feel like a rental. It was like home away from home.
The house was booked for 4 friends to go skiing. The 4 bedrooms all had queen beds but were tight. The kitchen was well stocked and the family room was large and functional. The hot tub was great and the location superb. The only complaint is that there is only parking for 1 car. There is no parking for a second car as advertised. Good house at a fair price.
We enjoyed our stay very much - the house is very sizable and can fit a big family or group of people. Everything was very clean and in place. We do wish the property management company would be more accessible/responsible - that was the only drawback for us. We couldn't find the instructions for operating the fireplace and didn't get a response from them.
Great house/Location, parking not as advertised, poor communication from management company
We really enjoyed this house for our family ski trip to Vail. The kitchen was big and well stocked (plenty of spices, oil, etc.), and the house itself had plenty of room for all 8 of us to sleep comfortably. It was really clean and had anything you could need. Itâs really close to the East Vail Blue bus line at Pitkin Creek and getting to and from the mountain was really easy. The check in/check out was really easy and smooth, though the door entry code was 9 digits, which was a little hard to remember and seemed pretty excessive. I would stay in this house again, but would be hesitant because of the experience I had with the management company (Vacasa) and the parking situation not being as advertised.
My two biggest complaint is the parking and the response time from the Vacasa management company.
Response: I booked this property through VRBO and I asked questions about the property weeks before our trip via VRBO (which bus line it was on, etc) and never got a response from anyone at all.
Parking: This house is advertised as having space for 2 sedans, but thatâs not really true at all. Only one car fits comfortably in the driveway. The check in instructions stated that we could park a second car in a marked lot at the north entrance of the complex. I COULD NOT find this lot for the life of me. I called the Vacasa management company for help, and they just told me again that it was at the north entrance. I called back again and said I couldnât find it, and they sent me to a lot that was south of the complex and a mile away. When I got to that lot, there were signs all over that said âPermit Parking Onlyâ and it was marked for a completely different complex. I called the Vacasa management company again, and they told me there should be a permit left for me (there wasnât). They then said they would send someone by with a permit (they didnât). Then they called and told me just to âwrite my name and phone number on a piece of paper and put it in the windshield.â I was not comfortable with that at all and worried daily that my car would be towed. I never did find the parking that was north as advertised, and I was pretty frustrated with the whole experience.
Great location to ski vail. We noticed a pick up shuttle 2 min from the home. Wish we know detail of this before our stay. it might have been useful instead of paying 60$ a day to park at vail. House had enough sleeping space for 8 adults. We cooked in all meals. Plenty of pots and pans. Not enough kitchen towels (only 2)and no towels for the hot tub unless you used your one bath towel. It says there is an instruction sheet for the fireplace on the mantel but it was not there. Also, the heater was set at 62 when we arrived and it took about 12 hours to bring the house to a comfortable level. Maybe leave it a little higher? Overall a great house in a great location. Just a few minor changes for guest comfort
