At first I was going to leave a terrible review only because the staff person I dealt with was not accommodating, given my circumstances. I literally flew in Sat afternoon and was heading out Sunday for a day event. I simply needed a place to rest my head from 12am-10am. Check in was great, cleaning staff was friendly. But my A/C did not function and I woke up at 3am drenched, as it was a rare 100+ degree day in Washington. I was up every hour, uncomfortable, but I didn’t want to get dressed and pack up to move rooms. Nor have someone randomly come into the room at that hour to poke around. I decided to deal with it, get as much rest as I could, then give the hotel a chance to remedy the situation in the morning. Had I been staying more nights, absolutely I would have moved rooms.
The first gal I spoke to was not at all understanding. She clearly didn’t believe me. However, their maintenance guy admitted the breaker was off for my room’s AC unit. So she begrudgingly offered me a $25 credit on a $260 room I was barely in.
The rest of the staff I spoke to the next two days were very kind and understanding. They could see the back & forth, that I was not lying about the situation. I anticipated a 50% credit back but they agreed to waive the whole thing. Because of that extra kindness, I’ll reconsider staying here again in the future when I’m in town.
