Polite Staff, Clean Rooms, But Poor Curb Appeal

As someone who’s worked with Vancouver’s top venues and hotel partners for over a decade, I hold a deep understanding of what makes a guest experience memorable. While Quality Inn & Suites met some expectations — including a very polite, respectful, and kind check-in team — other elements left room for improvement. The room itself was clean and functional, and check-in was smooth. However, the second-floor hallway had a strong musty odour, and guest directions were unclear. I managed fine as a local, but international travelers may find this frustrating. A major drawback is the neighbouring restaurant — not affiliated with the hotel, but visibly rundown and uninviting. It visibly lowers the hotel’s appeal, especially to first-time visitors. Fortunately, the White Spot breakfast voucher is a redeeming option. While the front desk staff were truly welcoming, I would recommend regular internal team huddles to ensure basics like clear communication and environment standards don’t slip. Overall, it’s a decent stay for the price, but the property would benefit from tightened operational consistency and a stronger awareness of the guest journey — from entrance to exit.

Didnt like location due to loud clubs at night lots of drug use and homelessness right outside hotel lobby, beds were in need of serious replacement and rooms needed updating. Hotel smelled musky and unclean, needs overhaul. Definitely not worth the cost of stay, way overpriced for what you get. Not worth it at all. Would not recommend or return.

The hotel sits next door to a nightclub that plays very LOUD MUSIC until 3AM. That made sleeping impossible. Hotel staff said “we told you that when you checked in”. What were our options? The hotel was sold out and every hotel was sold out because of a convention and cruise ships. I would never stay here again.

The hotel location was central so that was good and it was more affordable that most other downtown hotels. The carpet in the hotel rooms needs upgrading. The beds were comfortable and the overall cleanliness was good.

If you like convenient and ample dining options within a walkable distance, this place is for you. Staff was super helpful and kind, our rooms were stocked with plenty of towels and bedding, and the beds were very comfortable. The shower was old and warn but I would not say dirty. Now, the hotel is next door to a club, so friday and saturday night was pretty loud, very late (like 2-3AM). The hotel is in a bit of a dingy looking area with some transient people, however we never felt unsafe even in the evenings. We needed a comfy place to rest between being out and exploring the city, and this hotel did that!
