Fantastic proximity to the Victoria Curling Club. This small, unassuming hotel is perfect for a weekend away or a quick business trip. There are plenty of options for a meal within a five minute drive or Tim’s is just around the corner. The rooms with two double beds are nice but small. The bedding is nice quality but the mattresses are firmer than I like (Probably preferred by most people though).

Not a long walk to downtown (although I am an avid walker). The hotel isn’t modern by any means but the staff have always been kind, attentive and professional. The rooms are clean and everything works. Wifi is good. There’s no view and some traffic noise, but it is convenient to arrive at from the ferry—for those wanting a downtown Victoria experience.

This is an older property that has clearly had some recent renovations. The bathrooms were a standout — clean, bright, and updated. Check-in and check-out were both quick and hassle-free, which I really appreciated. The location is very convenient, especially with the #70 bus stopping right outside. Free Wi-Fi and parking were also a nice bonus. The A/C unit worked well and kept the room comfortable throughout my stay. On the downside, I couldn’t get the TV to work, which was a bit frustrating. Also, the carpets could really use a deep cleaning — they were noticeably worn. That said, everything else was clean and well-maintained. Overall, a solid place to stay. If the carpets were refreshed, this would be an easy five-star recommendation.

Clean room great price on hotels.com 149$ after tax. There was 2 beds, microwave, fridge, complementry coffee. Staff was pleasant. Beds were pretty comfortable. No complaints.

I stay at the Arbutus Inn was great. It was very clean and quiet. The staff were friendly. The entrance to the hotel was very inviting with fresh flowers, and I appreciated that the door to the hallway leading to the rooms was locked at night and opened by your room key I would recommend staying there. Also, the price compared to so many others wasn’t much better.

This was our first time staying at the Arbutus Inn, and we were very pleased with it. Service was on point, friendly and accomodating. The room was very clean, and the location was surprisingly quiet for a midtown area. We will definitely be booking there again.

Overall enjoyed this place. The front desk staff were fantasic, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The only downside of my stay was that my room was on the lower level, and every morning between 6 - 6:30 slamming, banging and voices from the hallway woke me up. Not sure if it was other guests, or staff (the laundry and househeeping facilities were down the hall),, but it was disruptive.
