Had 12 family members (6 adults and 6 kids ages 8 to 16) stay comfortably. House is steps to the water with a spectacular viewâŠgood snorkeling, swimming, and beach. Had both seals and turtles visit while we were there. House is well appointed with cooking utensils, eating area/seating for 12, and beach toys for the kids. Would rent again. Thank you for hosting.
DO NOT STAY IN THIS AREA OR HOUSE UNLESS YOU WANT TO SPEND YOUR VACATION WITH THE HOMELESS RIGHT OUTSIDE YOUR BALCONY! We booked this house for our family of 12. As we drove to the house, the streets and beach are lined up with homeless tents and people. I still had hope, but that quickly faded when we walked out on the balcony and had a homeless woman laying on the beach right beside our beach and more tents not far away. Not how I had envisioned my Hawaii vacation. We didnât feel safe in this area of the island and ended up not staying at the house. We were fortunate to find three rooms at the Disney resort. Our waitress and her manager grew up in the area where the house is located. They couldnât believe there was actually a VRBO house in that area to rent and would never recommend for tourists to stay in that part of town.
Plus:The place is overlooking the beach and waves are barely a few feet away! This was the best part of this home. The location is a little far from most places - tourist attractions and good restaurants etc. It was a good 40 minutes to get to HNL. But for the price and view, this was a good compromise.Jeremy (the owner) and the house keeper (Courtney) were very friendly and responded to all our questions promptly. There were plenty of utensils and cookware and large variety of spices and condiments available and we did not need to buy much!Minus:The dishwasher was not working properly and washing the vessels. Probably needs a new dishwasher. Spotted a few cockroaches in the downstairs bedrooms. The armoire in the bedroom was rickety and falling apart and might also need an upgrade.
The house worked perfectly for us. There were 6 of us; including my husband and myself, one adult son,,and another adult son with his wife and 1 child. There were bathrooms associated with each bedroom we used. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. A nice sandy beach was truly just a 5-minute walk away. And the local property manager was very helpful with any questions or concerns we had. We had a great time.
The only drawback to this property was the distance from Honolulu. It is about 45 minutes to get downtown. This was my own fault for not researching better. The neighborhood was quiet. Got to see honu and whales from the lanai. Property manager was very attentive to our needs.
Property is very private. The beach is 2 feet outside your back door. The property is not located in the tourist areas. Itâs about 45 minutes off the beaten track and away from all the tourist things. Did not cause my group any problem, as we just planned for the extra driving time.
I had multiple communications with the owner, Jeremy. He is very friendly and very responsive. Local contact/caregiver is Courtney. She is fabulous and communicates very well with you concerning any issues.
We had a couple of issues, and she responded quickly to resolve the problem.
I would stay in this property again.
The house was great on a beautiful beach! The owner was always easy to contact and took care of any of our needs that came up during our stay. Would definitely recommend this house for large groups or families visiting Oahu!
Our stay was amazing! There were 12 of us that stayed in this wonderful home, with more than enough space for all to relax and enjoy!
What we were most surprised about was how stocked the house was! OMG...we brought things in anticipation that we may need them at some point in the week ( paper towels, extra toilet paper, spices for cooking, condiments, etc). We didn't need anything we brought! That has never happened in other rentals before, in my experiences!
But overall, this home was perfect for our needs, very comfortable and clean! And of course....the most beautiful sunsets over Mauna Lahilahi!!!
