The rooms whilst older and dated decoration were comfortable and clean. We had a front room so had a bit of street noise and music from the pub across the reserve at night so put the earplugs in. Not that we needed it but troed scanning the bar code and tried to join the free wifi on both days and got messages that could not join.. no reception at the times tried ao could not ask them.
Room was in good condition.
Not sure where you are supposed to wash dishes - bathroom basin, not my preferred location. Shower door did not seal properly, so water on floor.
Due to other guests being smokers - heavy & constant, it was not possible to sit outside our room in fresh air. Also entering & exiting our room we were exposed to smoke odours - a health issue to at least one of us.
Lovely little hotel. We stayed in a balcony room. It's an old building but it's well kept and clean. Staff very friendly. Well situated. Walking distance to multiple lunch/dinner locations or pubs to have a drink at. Recommend walking to the Prince Edward for dinner (5 mins) - it was great.
I loved the nostalgic character of the building. Everything was comfortable, the bed was amazing!!
It was nice to come back to my room to just relax after spending time with a sick relative. Very close to the supermarket and delicious cafes.
The couple who manage the lodge were incredibly accommodating, helpful and sincere.
My only issue was that the walls in the courtyard rooms are a bit thin so I could hear my neighbors TV and talking. But nothing that a couple of ear plugs couldnt fix ( I am a light sleeper) otherwise everything was nice, quiet and comfortable.
Thank you for a pleasant stay
