Convenient location

Room and interior of hotel were great as was the location. However, the main entrance is undergoing a renovation which requires you can enter from a side alley or the hotel restaurant. The valet was not efficient as the signage sent me down an alleyway and the staff gave conflicting instructions of where to leave my vehicle. Park in the Washington Post building instead for much less and more convenient.

Great location close to White House. Only complaints I have is the construction going on at the entrance of hotel and having to use valet entrance coming and going & the $25 fee charge each day as well as parking is $70/day. Thankfully we found overnight parking a couple blocks away for a great price and decided to park our car there for our stay at a fraction of what it would have cost us at the Hamilton Hotel. The building was very clean but our shower had a slow drain from tons of hair build up and there's no fan in the bathroom so it gets foggy and humid unless you leave the door open. There were spots of mold on shower tile because of this. Everything else was great! The restaurant in the building we ate at one night and it was amazing!! For an older hotel building it was a nice stay.

The hotel was very beautiful, but we were a little disappointed that the front entrance was blocked off for construction. When we got into our room it wasn't exactly as described (which wasn't a big deal) and there was a hair clip on the floor, and the bathroom was very visibly not clean. We ended up asking for a room change and the new room was very clean and had the most amazing view of the city. When leaving we were charged $96 for 3 items out of the mini bar (which we expected) and a 2X $25 service charge that I'm still unclear what it was for. Overall very nice but not a five star experience.

We loved the decor and cleanliness of the hotel. It's convenience to the Metro was priceless. That park nearby was such a nice perk! We even attended a fun Cherry Blossom Festival at that park during our stay. We felt totally safe in the area, including the park.

A nice historical building, but needs renovation

This is a historical building and therefore you can expect the old rooms and hallways, which require a lot of maintenance. At the time of my stay the service was perfect, very good people at the register and everywhere else, but management probably spends a little amount of funds to keep the building in a good condition. In overall, a very good location, close to all downtown famous buildings and destinations.
