When you first walk in you notice the dust and cobwebs. It needs a good deep cleaning. The kitchen cooking supplies need to be replaced. Poor quality and hard to cook there. Worn and broken. The utensils are held in a dusty basket. There was an inch of dust inside the basket. All had to be washed before use. Beds were old. Furniture is old 90âs dorm furniture. Not enough towels were left for our stay. Everything is musty and just not looking clean. Broken tile in bathroom. Black mold in shower. Poor condition shower heads. This whole place needs a good scrubbing and a makeover.
The house was perfect for 9 people with ample space, but a little dated. It had a "chalet in the Alps" vibe. The linens included are a big perk. However, the house did not provide beach chairs or a cooler which is lot to bring with one on vacation. The mature trees and nature on the back deck were lovely.
However, I do NOT recommend renting through VACASA.
*** The coffee maker was broken and we were forced to go out to fetch coffee for 9 people each morning. I texted the company many times for the first 3 days. They NEVER responded except to say that they were notifying the local team. I NEVER got a response, an apology, an offer to replace the coffee maker. I will not be renting through VACASA again. It would have been no big deal if they had provided another coffee maker and/or not IGNORED my texts.
Overall, itâs a wonderful house. It could use a good spring cleaning. The outside of the windows were awful and I donât understand why there wasnât any shades because in the afternoon sitting at the dining room table you couldnât the sun was coming in Clarin. It was clean, but like I said, it needs a good spring clean specially downstairs. Update and the stairs from the dining room down to the two bedrooms and bath very dangerous we had to keep two chairs there because a few people walked right off and fell. It needs something bright and a handrail lotta bees hornets flying around. FYI we could watch them go into cracks and places on the home so that didnât look too good. Thatâs outside Think you need some professional sprayer come around and spray the property. I grew up going to the Cape and renting Cape Cod property from Wareham to sandwich all over thatâs a beautiful spot. I just think it needs some updating in the furniture and why isnât there another queen size bed in one of the bedrooms especially the one on the third floor. and the kitchen needs updating meaning all those knives need to be thrown out that one would cut through butter. It wouldnât be much to update a few frying pans, and I did have to re-wash the white coffee cups and the glasses. But the whole family had a wonderful time. Iâll rent the house again thank you so much for a wonderful 70th birthday birthday.
no chalk for the pool cues.
bed spread on the master bed should be bigger
needs spare toilet paper.
roof leak in living room - standing in front of wood stove.
roughly 1 foot out and 2 feet to the left. was dripping on the floor during Wednesday night's storm.
house was very nice, rustic, and fit my family well. location was great
This vacation home was large with a nice rustic decor. Wonderful floor to ceiling windows. We had everything we needed. The area outside was exspansive and lovely. The area is quiet and convienent to beaches ponds and Wellfleet center. We would definently return.
House is in good location and has potential but not well maintained or cleaned. Even with A/C, very musty. A/C needed in game room adjacent bedroom. Holes in outdoor shower floor covered by mats were dangerous. Beds were subpar. Twins upstairs were extremely terrible. Living room furniture cushions were ripped, musty and old. Bathrooms would be ok if cleaned better but updates needed. Kitchen was just ok/manageable. Weâve rented since my parents were young- several generations over 50 years. We donât expect perfection but this was disappointing. Too bad- could be spectacular with some investment and minor renovations. We will be hesitant to rent with Vacasa again.
We enjoyed staying in Wellfleet over the holidays this year. We have stayed in this house before and had really enjoyed it. This time around, while we still very much enjoyed the space and the beautiful location, we were sorry to see that the upkeep had suffered from our last stay. It may have been that it was over the holidays, but the trash and recycling bins outside were overflowing. The couches could use some reupholstering and cleaning. There was some mold and mildew in the first floor rooms. It is still a lovely space and this part of the Cape is beautiful this time of year, but the space could use some extra love and attention.
Stayed here for two weeks with my husband, son (13), and daughter (11). We also had a few family members come in and out since we had a few extra rooms. It was just perfect - tons of room for everyone, and the kids loved the downstairs area. The location is very close to many ponds and beaches and very close to Wellfleet downtown. Everything was super clean and comfy - we liked the eclectic vibe of the decor. The outdoor shower was awesome too. Two small suggestions - the master shower on the main floor needs a bath mat and the twin mattresses in the room on the main floor weren't very comfy. But other than that, this place was perfect and we highly recommend it.
Well we arrived to a major construction site (new septic system going in). Because we had no warning, I called Vacasa. They were very responsive and negotiated a discount on our behalf. The house is very eclectic. and fine for adults but too many hazards for young children (glass tables with edges right at toddler head height and several trip hazards. Beds were comfortable and price is good for Wellfleet.
