Stay was good. Always enjoy Rydges Wellington. There were a couple of minor glitches, TV not loading, and coffee missed on room service, but these were quickly attended to, and staff quick to apologise for any inconvenience - there hadn’t been.

Easy to get to from the Stadium, parking wasn't available and was instructed to park towards the stadium (at least 10 minute walk away) instead of the carpark building 2 mins walk on Stout street? Good service in restaurant for breakfast except from the Matradee that didn't seem to have time to be nice. Overall was a good place to stay and we would go back again, despite the little things with parking and restaurant staff.

We had a comfortable stay in Rydges Wellington. Do not stay here if you're driving though. Especially, if you have a big car (ute/van). They don't have enough parking for big cars and there are no covered parking nearby. That's what let me down. The staff also didn't seem helpful about it. But other than that, they were ok. Rydges Welly is along Pipitea. It would be good if you're going to the stadiums and wanna check out the beehive. It is 20-30 minutes walk from Te Aro though - where the cool cafes and young person vibes are.

Rydges in Wellington is very central to everything so it should have been a perfect spot but we found even on the top floor, we could hear the traffic. We had a nice view of the harbour but unfortunately filthy windows. We ended up cleaning them ourselves as the hotel staff weren't very helpful despite making commitments to have them cleaned. The rooms are a little challenging if you're not travelling alone. There's a frosted glass panel between the bed and the toilet which doesn't allow for much privacy at all. The shower was nice but there was only one hook for hanging a towel unless you wanted to use the rail over the toilet. Not a sanitary or desirable option. For a 5 star hotel, Rydges still has a way to go before I'd consider recommending it or staying there again.

The location was really good as it was close to the train station, and it was convenient to walk to the shopping district, restaurants and cafes. I liked the entrance as it was nice and clean, and there was also a seating area right there. However, the room was a bit of a disappointment. The room was very warm, even though the AC was on but it was quite old so there wasn't enough air coming through to cool the room down. And because it was a very old AC, it made a lot of noise throughout the day and night, so we didn't actually get a good sleep during our visit. The facilities inside the room were standard. The bed and pillows were too soft for us. The bathroom sink had cracks, and it was a bit dirty behind the bathroom door. Overall, it was alright for a few nights stay.

Loved our stay as always at Rydges, however something needs to be done about the televisions. Ours kept turning off part way through a movie and wouldn't even turn on when we arrived. Helpful staff to turn it on though.

Rydges Wellington

Hotel was fine. Nothing special about it. Restaurant staff seemed not very happy to be there, this includes the hotel manager. I found strange that children were using the lane pool, sauna and spa. The chromecast was unavailable and when we asked someone to come fix it, they said they removed it as "people were stealing it". We stay in room 901, which is close to the housekeeping closet, it was quite noisy all morning. Not good value for money but nice beds.
