The basement apartment is beautifully designed and clean, with basic kitchen equipment available. It was a bit loud for us but still acceptable. Be aware that people live above you, and you can hear every footstep, as well as a lot of kitchen noises, TV sounds, etc. Additionally, there are the furnace and large water pipes running through the basement, which can get quite loud, especially in the evening.Check-in was easy, but it might be helpful to mention that the entrance is on the side of the house. However, we had to deal with a clogged toilet on the first day, which wasn’t ideal after a 12-hour drive. We used the plunger, but the waste water backed up into the bathtub. The toilet worked once, but then clogged again. We contacted the number provided and were told we would receive a call back within 30 minutes. An hour later, we had to call back and were told to find another toilet elsewhere, with the promise that they would fix it the next morning. Unfortunately, no one came or responded to our calls or messages until after noon.We agreed not to pay for the first night, but when the toilet still wasn’t fixed by late afternoon, we struggled to get out of the contract. Thankfully, Vrbo assisted us, and we moved out that day.
