The lake is quiet and far enough from the touristy parts of the area to be peaceful and uncrowded, but close enough to stuff that you're not driving endlessly to get to civilization. The mattresses are super comfortable, and we really had everything we needed to just chill out.
The property was exactly as described, it was welcoming and very family friendly. Being able to have our pups and a small fenced in area for them to go outside was definitely a peek! We will be back and highly recommend this location.
Lodging was comfortable and we had all we needed. Enjoyed the extras like birdseed, outdoor equipment and kitchen utensils. Didnt get a chance to fish the lake but fished nearby areas.
Clean clean clean.
Comfortable warm everything that was needed.
Only thing that in my opinion needs to be part of the stay is Satellite tv
That was horrible other than that very nice
This lake house was cozy on a beautiful north woods lake in Hiawatha National Forest . Close to Munising . Close to Pictured Rocks too. We enjoyed our stay !
Overall the cottage was great! Neighbors were close but it still felt private. The deck was a peaceful place to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning and watch the wildlife. The location was Close to restaurants and waterfalls.
All the boats were in really nice condition however the row boat could not be used as the oar locks were broken, missing, or damaged. One canoe paddle was also duct taped together. The hill going down to the water was a little steep- nothing of concern if you are fit and steady - however if your gait is unsteady this may be a concern.
There were some cleaning opportunities in that spider webs had not been addressed and some soap build up in the washing machine. We stayed for a week and needed to change out the TP however there was not a single extra roll.
Overall a great location and I would go back and pack a roll of TP:)
The location was great! It was very close to Munising. The dog run in the backyard was helpful. The property had a kayak, paddleboat, and a canoe. We had a great time on the quiet lake in the early morning. We didn't catch any fish but it was still a great time. We visited many nearby waterfalls and attractions during our stay. Thanks for a much-needed vacation!
We spent our 17th anniversary and everything was perfect. The dog run was perfect for quick pup trips in negative temps. We were able to get to Marquette, Pictured Rocks and Miners Castle with no problems even in late December.
This was a charming house in a totally secluded neighborhood. We really enjoyed our stay.
It was such a great place! It had everything we needed and we're looking for in a vacation getaway. Perfect views, a place for our dog, and near places we wanted to see. The house was so cute and peaceful!
The lake house was nice. We enjoyed the view from the deck and using the paddleboat. Lots of sightseeing in the area. Loved watching the hummingbirds. We would recommend this cabin for rental for an enjoyable vacation.
This was the perfect rental for my family and our needs. The boats and lake front access were the best part and we had lots of fun. There was plenty of room for sleeping for us (4 adults and 2 kids). The upstairs and bedrooms were clean and there was plenty of clean bedding and towels. The only issue I had with cleanliness was the basement - there looked to be some trash but it wasn't a big deal to us because we only used it to access the outdoor kennel (which was also great so we could let our dog off leash for awhile). In response to the other reviews complaining about the musty smell - yes the basement did smell a little musty but that is normal for Michigan basements especially right by the water and I'm sure the owner does everything they can to keep it at bay as there was a dehumidifier and no leaks or standing water I could see. If you do book this rental make sure you get directions to the property and follow them don't listen to a map app! There are a lot of dirt roads going around the lakes and they don't all have through access. The place was nice and private and had everything you could need - boats, water, cooking appliances and utensils, firepit and grill. It is also near Munising and other places to explore including hiking/ATV trails. I also appreciated the owner reaching out to me to give directions and recommendations on things to do in the area. My only regret is not writing or reading in the guest book - we never had time because we were too busy relaxing and having fun. I would recommend this place for a good time both on the property and at any of the nearby attractions.
Myself, my husband and our daughter stayed along with our two dogs. The location of the house is within 10-15 minutes from Munising in a wooded setting. It's very peaceful there, and just what we were looking for, as we didn't want a busy place right downtown. We weren't too far out for sightseeing everyday and then returning to the house to enjoy the beautiful view from the deck that overlooks the lake. We took two different boats out for fun. There were five, non-motorized boats, to choose from which was an added bonus to renting this house. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. We made lots of memories, and had many laughs. I would recommend this home to anyone and will definitely keep it on my mind to rent again in the future.
My family of four had a good time at Lost Lake. Easy to find and about a 10 mile drive to Munising. The paddle and row boats were a great amenity to have to catch Northern!
We did have to vacuum the floor upon arrival and wipe down some counter surfaces. The home overall could use a good "spring cleaning" to get rid of the cobwebs and dust bunnies. Unfortunately we were left with only 2 rolls of TP for a six night stay. These notes were left for the housekeeper as instructed.
If you plan on cooking, the kitchen has just about everything you will need. Do bring your own basic seasonings as there were a lot of expired ones in the cupboard. The salts were from 2007 & 2011.
Overall, a positive experience with some concerns of cleanliness. The lake is beautiful and quiet.
Dog friendly with beautiful views, a great location! But this home could use some sprucing up.
This home is charming and we loved the location. The view of the lake is gorgeous and the main part of the home really gives you that vacation feel. We also loved that it was dog friendly with a great walk out basement/ large fenced kennel.
The home was a bit smelly, not unbearably so, probably from the well water and dampness. The biggest cause for concern was that there was a lot of expired medicine, spices, food. There were things that were as old as 2006. This included children's medicine.
Also my husband was picking up our dogs poo and noticed several other people's dog poo that didn't belong to ours. He picked all that up too but we felt that it should have been previously cleaned up.
The Good: Very nice owner, very peaceful location, lots of potential, big enough for 4 adults. The Bad: The bed situation does not allow for a comfortable night of sleep (twins and a full). The big negative was the cleanliness, it was not tidy or clean at all. I feel bad stating this but it's the truth.
