Bar was great, friendly staff and locals. Dinner was great both nights we ate there and really good cooked breakfast to start the day. Recommend as a place to stay to explore the area.
Food was disgusting. Apparently this is not the norm their usual chef was off and they had problems with the oven . We did receive a 20 % discount for the food.
Old building which is lovely but can hear toilet flushing in another room . The room was clean and very small . The bed was hard.
Stayed here as attending a wedding at Danby castle . It was quiet , bedroom lovely and clean , staff very friendly and accommodating, breakfast delicious.. no fault whatsoever. Would definitely recommend đ
We had a lovely stay at this lovely little hotel. Staff were very welcoming. Room 8 was biggerthanexpected. Nice view . Good facilities.
Food was nice, breakfast was really good.
Would visit again.
This is our second stay at the Fox and Hounds. The staff are very welcoming. The food is excellent, with an extensive choice available. The room was clean, and well presented. There was a good supply of tea bags, coffee, hot chocolate and bottled water, plus shower gel, shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom.
Very dog friendly too!
Lovely spacious room and friendly, helpful staff. Beautiful location with train station nearby. Great breakfast.
Our only complaint was that rooms at the far end of the hotel had zero Wi-Fi, although I'm sure this will be fixed soon.
We were shown to our room which we booked a superior room and on entering it there was lots of blue bottle flies everywhere in total 11 of them so we had to get them all out of the room then when they have cleaned the room they had left all the rubbish in the bin from the previous occupants plus they had put the bathroom rubbish in it as well plus there was poo in the toilet. The Wi-Fi didnât work in the room or even the rooms next to us as we heard someone else complaining about it. Lack of routers seems to be the problem, food wasnât bad but had better for the price they are charging ie home made pie had pasty top as thick as a doorstep and the burger was the smallest burger Iâve ever had although it was tasty and it was supposed to be in a locally baked bread bun but it was just a small bun you would get from Tesco in a pack of 6. Didnât top up the tea and coffee condiments properly had to go and ask for sugar from the bar and didnât leave any bottled water on our last night of stay. The bathroom was nice but the shower screen on the bath is too small as when you have a shower the bathroom floor get soaked. They rate themselves as 4* B&B but really itâs a just gets a 3* and only just gets that. Would we stay again, well no not for the price as itâs not cheap and when you pay for a superior room you expect more.
