This place is a hidden gem, I really enjoyed this little family getaway. Each yurt has a stove, a campfire come bbq outside our yurt. Your own parking space. Your own bathroom. A communal shower and a communal kitchen with your own press equipped with all you need for cooking and dining. And your own space in the communal frigde. The beach is a 15 minute walk. A shop and pub close by too. And fota wildlife is a 25 min drive. Lots of things to do around the site for kids too. There's animals on site, you can even bring your own pet. Lots and lots of plants, you will really feel at one with nature here. A dream. I think it would be a lovely place to get married.
What an absolute joyous experience! Colleen met us upon arrival and showed us around their wonderful place! It felt a bit like the Shire, really! Comfy little abodes and unusual structures. The yurt we stayed in was lovely and large. With wood heat we stayed very warm even on frosty nights! We had a camp fire and nice kitchen facilities. But the best part was all the critters!! There is a pig and ponies and a duck. My kids particularly enjoyed the kitty, "Tiger" who spent our nights snuggled up in out yurt! HIGHLY recommend this wonderful, out of the fast paced world little spot! CHEERS, to the beautiful Colleen!
Unfortunately, the separate toilet is not a plus point because it is not located directly at the yurt. You still have to walk across the yard. There is no restaurant or similar within walking distance. Overall it is quite ok there. However, it doesn't offer any more comfort than the staying in our van and so in my mind too expensive.
Would have been super fun but for the hurricane force storm, the pub up,the road, was wicked fun to watch rugby match. Inch beach looked really nice but again the storm was BRUTALLY nasty, we did leave one day early due to weather, totally suggest all ,hippies, and kids to check out this fun spot. Nice and secluded and had a cute lil ginger kitty.
